Hey i am developing a game where you will have your own inn in a town setting. You will be able to venture in to a different realm as well such as a magical forest. There will be lots of heroines and their unique storylines in addition to a main plot. There will be choices you can make and you will be able to upgrade your inn, develop relationships with the heroines. I will try to add as much as minigames i can add. This is an extremely early development page where i wanted to show you the art samples of the early heroines. Any comment or suggestions are welcome. There might be major changes to what i said here since it is still in very early development. But any feedback is appriciated on the art and the basic setting.

Given you asked for feedback, I'll give you one: don't put minigames at all or at least make them optionals!! Sorry if you thought this could be a good idea, but actually most people here hate being forced to play minigames to advance in a game.

I agree with Mythos079. Mini-games add a huge layer of complexity and are hard to do right. Unless you are a great programmer and know what you're doing, making a mini-game costs a lot of time, let alone multiple. When I play a game where content is locked behind an annoying mini-game, I immediately stop and do something else. What you should look at is make a solid game loop. If you want to add mini-games, I would make them optional and reward the player with more of x items (for example).

I never thought that way. I think i understand! Thanks for the feedback even if i add a minigame it will definetly be skippable.

The art looks good, but its not like we get to know much what the game will be. So we have a Inn. What its the core gameplay ? We sit arround, wait for each individual LI to appear, do some quests for her and decide to add her to our Inn ?
About minigames. Well, I like if I can play some of them, but from my experience they are very, very time consuming and people tend to ignore them. Sure, if they are simple and not annoying and I dont see a problem, but right now I dont know what mini games they would be in the first place.
Will this be in a RPG maker ?

It depends who you ask. There are dozen good RPG games out there who has a huge following but I also saw that many simple dont like RPGMaker at all. The reason for this is that most of such games are really, time consuming and waste the peoples time for pointles grind or let the player in the dark. Since most of such porn games tend to use RPGMaker many of them simply outright judge from their experience. So its up to you what you want or not.

Right now, since we dont nothing about the world, the story, the characters and how the MC will impact it, I cant say what would suit it better.

It depends on your game design. RenPy works best for a visual novel, and if you can code it's possible to add a certain layer of gameplay. RPGM is good if you want to have battle functionality that's built into the game engine.

But both game engines can be used incorrectly, and then you have a game that will not reach its potential.

Depending on these comments I reconsidered the game engine and decided on RPGM. I feel like making a game with RPGM is much easier. And i believe i can give like some type of instructions for the player so nobody is left in the dark. Thanks again for comments.
