About 90% of the people I've had to add to my ignore list are due to the people in this thread. I'd definitely recommend using that feature on this site to filter out the trolls.
So is this "trolls" in the reddit/mass media bastardized usage which simply means "people I dont agree with"? Because normally "trolling" has a strong connotation of disingenuity/(riling people up only for sake of riling people up), I don't think anyone is getting upset at the dev here as a joke, they truly and honestly are frustrated at him.
Discontents or debbie-downers perhaps.

Imagine naming people who objectively and fairly calls Torimiata out regarding his abject schedule as trolls. Serious due diligence needs to be administered regarding supporting someone who views his patrons with, at best, open disrespect.
If and when the next update drops, do not be surprised if it is the last--but don't expect a warning either. It would be not the first time a very generous audience on f95 have been burned by devs ghosting without closing their patreon.

Am I taking crazy pills? Like can't everyone who doesn't want to support the dev just wait to sub to patreon when the release post actually comes out instead before? Why does every comment make it sound like Tori is holding a gun to everyone's head and making them subscribe month after month?
Like wouldn't everything be solved if the people who only subbed for an update didn't sub until the update is released the just cancel before the next months payments? I feel like I'm missing something.

From an objective point of view you're completely right, people can simply sub out, in fact it's my understanding that even patreon subs are actually not spending since he froze the payments till the next update, but I think the issue is elsewhere; they don't feel like they're owed something because they're costumers, I feel like there are basically 2 group.
1) People who really like the project, and were waiting for an update when it was first promised. Then it was procastinated and so on. Basically they wanted something they liked and they got first promised it and then denied it. This repeated for sometimes and they simply got very annoyed.
2) People who really like the project and are seeing the repeated procastination as a part of a pattern they've seen in other project they liked and got abbandoned. They're hating because of fear.
What people don't seem to understand is that hating doesn't help, in fact it does the opposite. If Tori is still reading the comments then all this could do is simply give him doubts about himself. 'Cause when people keep tellling you that the project is dying and you're letting your follower down it will sooner or later break through anyone's mental bareer and it will make you start doubting yourself ("maybe they're right" "maybe I should just stop and give up"), especially if you already feel in the wrong.
I understand where the flaming comes from, but it doesn't help at all.
Quite frankly I hope Tori is simply not reading the comments on here right now
why do you guys keep insisting it's our job to encourage and support the dev? this is a piracy forum, not a group therapy session. i supported this dev for months financially, have contributed well over $100 to this project, and now i mostly hang out in the thread to make jokes and discuss the game because the dev is annoying and i don't want to give him anymore money. thats a totally valid use for this forum.

It's not that it's anyone's job to encourage or support the dev, it's that if people like the game, they'll want to see it encouraged. The idea that true fans would be happy to have trolls spreading misinformation (like when people lie about the dev supposedly announcing the release date's been officially pushed back another three months) or mock fans of the project for still hoping that the update will be coming out "soon" is absolutely absurd. It's not about criticism or about whether or not it's fair for people to be upset about the expected release date for the update (and no, there's never been a promised date for released, just a suggested one as Tori hasn't been sure it would be ready only hopeful). There's been people in these forums that have been attacking people for not giving up on this project after the update only being delayed a month meanwhile other games (not going to point out some devs for doing it) have gone a year or more without updating and their threads are quiet as people just patiently wait for the release. There's an active effort to discourage this game's fan base and I can't figure out for the life of me why the mods for this site just turn a blind eye to it.
tl;dr: we're being gas lit that there aren't trolls attacking this dev/game for way less reason than other games with much longer periods between updates.
look there will always be psychos who kick people when they're down, or are rooting against the game, whatever. you just gotta ignore them and move on.
but to pretend everyone criticizing the game is secretly working to destroy the game... cmon. there were jumps in patreon subscribers at the end of july (when the update was first supposed to drop), then again when the release countdown post came out in august, and again last week when the "hopefully sunday!" post dropped. all of those people probably feel burned. whether or not they have any right to feel burned is debatable, but this is a much more likely explanation for why everyone is so mad, instead of "everyone is secretly teaming up to destroy blurring the walls, and nobody knows why!"
if/when this game is abandoned it will be because the dev burned himself out pursuing a remaster when everyone said it was a bad idea, started pushing back the anticipated new chapter to focus on the remaster, set multiple release date estimates and then missed them, and did all of this with poor communication, usually only commenting on the blown deadlines many days after it had passed. this is a recipe for blowing up your community, and that's what is happening here.
and again: all of this was predicted at the very beginning when the remaster was first hinted at! if you think the dev's situation is bad now, imagine how bad it's going to get when the remaster is released and people don't like it! i don't LIKE that this is the situation the game is in, but it is what it is, and this is a forum for discussing that

I guess the followers of this game are just that passionate about it. I was tryng to be positive, but the last missed target did it for me. All the hate the dev is getting. He definitely deserves. He did it all to himself. Why provide a timeline if he can't even honor it. Or atleast close to the said date? Was the countdown per month? Im sure the heat'll settle down eventually. But for now let him get all the heat. If he's to fold after all these. Then he's just that weak of a person emotionally. I still hope to be proven wrong as i still hope this game gets to its completion one day.
I really don't give a shit what people think of the way the new style looks because as I understand it, it's out of Tori's hands. The AI tools used to make them updated and forced the change. It wasn't Tori's choice. And I also don't give a shit about people whining about how Tori shouldn't bother with a remaster because if Tori instead just saved remastering for later, those same people would bitch about how shit the game looks with mismatched art styles. There's no pleasing them.
I agree with the criticism that Tori should've done some sort of release date when people expected it. The update wasn't promised for a specific date, only a soft suggestion, but it would've been much better to have something to give people (not that I think anyone really deserves it anyways). My problem is and has always been with the attitude people have had here. I'm not saying there's some conspiracy to mass attack fans here, just a general trolling effort that's grown and grown because the mods refuse to step in to do something about it. People have been saying that Tori has gone radio silent (not true as there have been regular updates to Patreon), telling people that Tori has officially pushed the update another "x" months back which was complete bs, and just a general attitude of "you guys are all a bunch of dumb simps" starting immediately after the very first delay. Again, other games have gone much longer without updates and no gotten this level of hate. I don't have a problem with supporters walking away feeling disappointed or betrayed, but I do have a problem with trolls coming here to take a figurative baseball bat to anyone present.
Bluntly, it sounds like you're also trying to take a figurative baseball bat to those you disagree with. I haven't heard anyone who's criticizing/hating/mocking/whatever the dev advocating those supporting him be silenced. Again, you keep saying "trolling", but aside from the low effort posts (which for sure are here, they're in almost every thread), people have legitimate gripes.

He is not freezing anything, but offer refunds. I used this option several days ago and already got my 15$ back. I'm also not support dev current way of things so I'm going to ignore remaster as way to protest agains it (unless he made impossible to start from where 0.5.2 ends with old saves) and would only join back to subscription if see that he fix his shedulge problems.

Not saying one way or the other cuz I don't care but if someone loses their desire it would be big respect to just say so cuz it's a bigger fuck you to the fans to delay the inevitable and end up being another staller. Not saying it is the case here but I've seen it and it's sad cuz ppl respect honesty and sincerity. That being said this vn doesn't really have much it can do beyond start to dip it's toes into ntr vibes because the draw of it has been how it stayed innocent the whole time. She never truly fucked anyone and it stayed as a tease the whole time, and to me that's the best nts is when she can roleplay well and sees how close she can get to the line to rile him up without actually crossing it, then using the charge she built up in him to fuck her senseless. It's best it stays that way and if that means abandoned then so be it.
