Most of the games you have listed are barely a competition both in the art direction and definitely the writing. I agree that for now MRL is unmatched (the quality of that game is insane), and, as much as I don't like it, MNGF is very popular with a lot of people. But, others... Meh

The remake's art is downgrade in my opinion... It looks like it's lost so much for the personality the original art had now it looks much more like generic ai art. Unfortunate, but to each their own
The game is glitching the hell out. Did nobody test this game? The game probably drawing so much every millisecond that previous pictures start showing up glitching everything up.

Jokes aside - it's technically a 'preview' but we're talking 40k words and several new scenes - not exactly a small preview.
What changed? Everything. New art pipeline (took forever to get right but worth it), completely rewritten dialogue, new scenes, full 1080p... Started as a remaster, turned into a proper remake.
Story wise, it will of course feel entirely familiar for now so if you want to wait until the whole Act 1 catches up, totally get it but it's about time stuff is actually happening.
Some decisions I’ve made might not resonate with everyone, but the game is in a place that feels much more polished and cohesive to me.
Updates will be dropping every two weeks for a while too as this is a staged release.

Hey Tori, something I've been worried about for a while is that now Ayumi won't look at the MC during certain sexy scenes like when she touches Terrace in the pool one of the teasers showed her not looking at him like she did in the old version so I was wondering will she still look over and tease the mc sometimes?Is this where I sign up for the 'disappeared for months just to drop a preview' club? I thought the purpose of this remake was something to do with the character art but they look exactly the same. While the story has almost completely and needlessly changed. Some people may like this new direction but I think most had no problem with the original story and we have lost 8 months of possible new story on a needless remake. Worse of all it was only a very small part of the story and at this rate it will be years before we are caught up to where we were.
Kind of comical how MC's penis got resized into tiny while other characters got larger...

Trolls are just checking the facts Mr. Dev, you are trying to defend the product, but as someone who has played these games for a long time, if you present me with a MC with a small dick, then the dynamics are clear to understand, when you Dev create the character of an idiot, gurdone, cuckold and small dick Mc, you will excuse me, but there is only one reason, because he becomes an NTR, the NTS I played did not have this dysfunction between the characters' dicks and Mc. DEv contradicts himself, if he says that there will be a negative ending, then, the Trolls are right, and he contradicted himself, think about it. It took him a year to go back to making a product worse.

So basically, the game have been in the remake half the time since first release, and the first remade build is about the third of what the game was at the point it started being remade.
That's honestly disapointing. I for one hardly see what was the hustle to start remaking things, you know, one would expect the change to be HUGE to take that much time, and if anything the change are quite insubstancial:
-All the CG have been remade but for fuck sake we're talking about a few still image made by IA. I mean, since the scenes don't change, half the work was being done already right? Even taking into account edditing, that is still a shitton of time.
-Some basic motion effect are now applied to every scene... I honestly don't like it. Actually it's not just a feeling, the peculiar effect is the one used to showcase dreams or hallucinations in other VN. And you can't unmake a story telling rule. I guess i can get used to it, like learn to oversee it, but it defeat the original point right?
-A few choices are available now. They're your usual dom/sub trope. Sigh. Showcased as a gauge that u can't access by pressing a button or what not.
Annnd that's all. Half a year to introduce 2 technical feature and about 30 minute of gameplay. And the game still feel unaccomplished missing basic feature like a gallery, QOL feature like changing font, fontcolor, deactivate the wobbly effect, access stats, choose resolution.
If it was about introducing self made core mechanics, add a completely new path to what was done already, animate a shitton of scene, i would have understand.
Am not the kind that like to blame dev, they make it out of passion, but i think any creator have to be honest with himself and be aware of his abilities. You don't start all over again for a few issue. The feeling that give such a remake is that the creator is full of doubt. That he don't have a vision. And it leave the audience in a likewise state. How much time until the creator have another crisis of selfdoubt and his work to come to another hiatus? get abandonned?
If Torimiata ever read this, you should know i don't mean ill. Am just stating the obvious right?
