I think many games get the pace right at the beginning but then, as soon as the stories go through their 'sex' arcs, they just go from 0 to 100. I think authors forget you can fragment the story/development into smaller pieces and move slow even if things are happening. Imo, that keeps it interesting instead of going BANG and then the story fizzles out amid other sexual acts that don't really reach the same level again.
