Hey everyone,

Another year. Hard to believe!

This time last year, I'd paused Patreon payments because the remake was in such rough shape I couldn't justify charging anyone. I was deep in development hell, wondering if rebuilding everything from scratch was the right call.

The remake hasn't technically reached that party yet - which honestly bugs me - but when I look at all the progress this year and where the story is at with the characters, the branching, the technical foundation... I'm glad I made that decision.

Some numbers:

• 7 releases (mix of technical updates and major content)
• +500 CGs / +100 Animations created
• Entire script rebuilt with branching routes and deeper characters
• Support doubled since last December
• Act 2 in the works - part of the largest update yet

Reflections

Remakes are hard. Holy sh**. Way harder than I expected. There were moments where I questioned everything - the scope, the CGs workflow, the art style, whether anyone would care about the new changes.

It's easy to enter this loop of never being satisfied. With a remake, you feel like it needs to be 10x better just to justify the development redirection. It's exhausting.

But the positive feedback, the discussions, the fan art, the theories about where things are going, the support... that helped a lot.

At this pace, I can only imagine where we'll be next Christmas. We're about to enter completely unknown territory. That's exciting.

Thank You

The doubling of support this year meant I could justify dedicating significantly more energy to this project. It's still solo dev work, still not full-time, but I'm putting a lot of hours into the project.

There's a lot of work that goes unseen - plot brainstorming, character backstories, script iterations, workflow experiments. The type of work that doesn't always work out but feels important to me.

So thank you. For the patience with delays, the thoughtful feedback, the wild theories, and to finally getting these characters closer to that goddamn party.

Happy holidays,
Tori

P.S. - One more dev diary coming before I head off for the holidays.

This is probably why some devs only start remaking AFTER the game is done. Doing it while the game is still in development seems like the way to go. It's just that it will likely end up being a monumental task.

Still, if a dev can pull it off...

Unfortunately it's a known bug and it will happen on load/save after a later section of the game :HideThePain:

I fixed it for the next release though.

It was certainly a controversial decision but now that the bulk of that remake work is done, it feels better.

It's a lot more enjoyable to work in the game with the newer tech stack + the story also flows a lot better imo.

That said, I would have done things differently knowing what I know today.

When you finish the game, have you thought about making a version in Unity 3D?

Question - I just started playing this and went through some of the comments on here - talk about remakes and choices meaning nothing. It looks like there are two ways to go - Tease Queen or Submissive Pet? Does the player have choice over who she will interact with or is it all predetermined? Forced? Thanks.

Maybe you want to share how you fixed it so we (those who can code) can save? I've hit this error about 20 times tonight trying to save at the pool party. If it's too complex to lay out that's all good but if it's a few lines in one of the files shouldn't be too hard to get it going. Thank you!

A Love Letter to a Dev

I've just finished 0.5.4v2 and I'm compelled to post this message. A couple of things to give context. I've got 85 titles on my "keeper/full play" list and 275 on my reject list. I have a very small window of content I can appreciate in these types of titles. My ex and I were in the lifestyle for 17 years and I can't tolerate NTR, cheating, lying, humiliation and such. I much prefer same room swing/share and I VERY much prefer extremely close love, intimacy, loyalty and trust. Now that you know where I'm coming from I have to say your writing is a pure masterpiece.

I've never read such a lovely layering of emotion, love, playfulness and excitement. You've definitely titled this effort appropriately as we watch both the MC and his LI tip their toes into the blur. Dancing in and out of it like kids playing in the ocean foam. You convey emotion, tension, fear, jealousy and happiness in such a delicate balance. I always felt on edge reading but in a excited and hopeful way. These two seem like they belong together, support each other and explore together. I think the epitome for me was the 10 question hand/boob job. The tension was so crazy, she's working him perfectly and he's hoping she'll say something she never says but she shocks him down to the core anyway. Then you bring us back down again when she's shocked the MC thought it was more than fantasy.

The other characters... Terrance and Ari are also very well done. Normally they'd be stereotypes in their designated roles. Terrance is a Chad with self deprecation, warmth, friendliness and his own insecurities. Ari is definitely the title's troublemaker but she has a vulnerability and desire for connection that really makes her unique in her place as a rabble-rouser.

You have a gift and I would like to thank you for all of the time, effort and emotion you put into your work. You honor us by sharing your remarkable talent in such a fun and sexy way. All I can say is keep doing what you do and thanks again for giving so much for so very little. Peace.

I'll say in the remake, Terrace is my favorite character out of all them. The fact that Tori took the time to really flush out his character a lot in the remake and give a ton of scenes between just Kento and himself really does wonders. My fav scene in the whole game is a remake exclusive where Terrace and Kento are those army soldiers talking about their combat moves. Where Terrace knows that Kento and Ayumi both want to explore and knows he's somewhat being forced to be the main component. He just doesn't want to overstep his boundaries. Terrace is a reversal of the regular NTR/NTS chad guy who's supper confident that the LI just immediately goes head over heels for bc he has a big dick and muscles (i get the irony here). All Terrace really cares about is being a good friend to Ayumi and being a best friend to Kento and it's so apparent. The fact that the remake gives space to make him vulnerable by Ari telling him he doesn't have the biggest dick she's ever seen or when Ayumi gives him the message in the hot tub. He's now just a much more deep character and I'll be so happy to see Ayumi and Terrace when they finally crack each other.

We’ll use each other as testers. If you like a game I won’t like it and vise versa :sneaky:
