Saw the discussion popping off so figured I'd show up for the fight :coffee:

The delay sucks, I get it, but I'm pretty happy with this year development (especially compared to last year).

There were 6 or 7 releases this year alone and yes, it is a remake, but one developed from scratch with a lot more polish, depth, and content than the original.

This is a minor delay in the big scheme of things. I'm giving early heads-up specifically to avoid people subbing with wrong expectations around the holidays.

On 3D environments: certain scenes benefit from it. Not the first time I've used it. Regardless, it's the complex routes and CGs that takes time.

Appreciate those supporting the project. Update's coming soon and will put the game close-ish to the party so I'm looking forward to that.

Chose one. Adding 300k words of dialog only worth skipping is hardly content.

6 or 7 releases this year with "minor" delays everytime, yeah in the big scheme of things this one isn't important but it adds up to the pile of twisted truth.

This game really is the perfect example of the power of gooning, people still sub to you for years with no delivery, this is insane.

Games like this usually live off the story being told. Skipping through it wouldn’t do the story justice.

Yes, we all know the OG story — I get that. But this is a VN, not a mass-produced phone game. That simply takes more time and effort.

If you’re mainly looking for fast content, that’s fine — but then this might just not be the right type of game for you. Have a nice Holiday Season, everyone.

Give us a little bit more ass scenes and curiosity in the story text. That sounds fun

The remake sits somewhere around 100-150k words with +500 CGs and +100 animations. I get the slow-burn is not for everyone but that's delivery.

Game has received hate well before the remake and will continue to well after. As a developer, you kinda get used to it.

I am making the game I wanted to play myself and I'm happy to see many other players understand that direction too. I'm not trying to please all the players.

Game is free. Support is voluntary and it's what is keeping project alive. If game isn't for you, there are many games out there.

Agreed!

Some people prefer quick action and that's fine but it was never the vision for this project. I even added a disclaimer during the intro, but I guess some people don't even read that

In the foreseeable future, an announcement will be released before the upcoming update party at the end of next year. Due to the iterative upgrade of AI technology, the old content will be reset and upgraded again

Another scenario is that he will indefinitely delay the release of new content after completing the party-related material—at least, that’s how it seems for now. Delaying and resetting are the only ways to secure sponsorships, and playing new content is simply unrealistic.

This is the main problem, people who, after the news about the delay, continue to give money to "developers" when there is simply no content, and all that needs to be done is to cancel/suspend subscriptions, and when the developer sits for a month or two without money, then perhaps there will be a result... But this is simply unrealistic, so we have to reap the consequences.
Personally, I support some authors, but after a month without updates, and when they report a delay, I stop supporting them for a maximum of six weeks, because the developer will receive money for a month, but they won't provide any content, so they'll spend the next month without my money, and I believe this is the right thing to do.

He chose to announce the delay at this time rather than last month because he has already received the maximum amount of sponsorship for December, lol. Even if payments are canceled, he will release the content next month and get people to pay again. It is suggested that sponsors cancel their support in the month before the expected release date, so the creator won’t be able to string the sponsors along like this.

To all aspiring game developers, if you want to improve your skills, do it on the next game. Not the current one.

Do not mistake a wet candle for a slow burning log.

I've commented maybe twice on this thread, I'm not hating on it as others do. And I'm just criticizing your blindness to the same criticism you're getting since the start of the remake.

Of course you get used to it, but that's really not what other devs are experiencing, your thread does stand out for how much deaf you are (voluntarily).
