Ren'Py - Bobby's Memoirs of Depravity [v0.15.494] [ZipTieFun]

This game is bad, a copy of one that already exists. It's just a mod that got bigger and now tries to profit from the original. If it were the same author, I wouldn’t say anything, but it's not, and we have a major issue with IP theft. On top of that, it doesn’t even respect what made the original good. The original was one of the first games I played, and I got hooked with the whole ‘boss’ concept, the idea of pushing things to their limits. Same with the sisters. But in this one, no. They ruined the well-done NTR, and mind you, it was optional, which silenced the complainers. They've destroyed the story and even throw in ‘what if’ scenes at the beginning, like game-over super fan-service moments that, if they had been in the original, would have been completely out of place so early in the game. But since it’s just a copy of an already existing game, it's all fan service. It doesn’t deserve a cent. If it respected the original, the essence of the abusive kid and the NTR, that would be fine. But instead, it changes the original author’s vision to create this fan-service mess. One star, and that’s being generous.

The writing is really bad, both story wise and grammar. The Dev seriously needs to learn the use of I'm, I am, I'll, etc. instead of just I. You get sentences like " I so horny" and " I between her legs." It sounds pretty bad.

The MC is incredibly creepy, the kind of creepy that makes you feel like you need a shower. I do feel bad for him in that he is so short compared to all the females. I'm not sure what the Dev was thinking making him like that but it's not a good look.

This is a bad VN from top to bottom.

One of the worst ways to implement sandbox known in history of renpy games. Certain events happen only at certain time on specific days, so you need to keep time skipping to that special time slot and then you find out it's only a 1/10 repeat quest, and then if you do bite the bait, the reward is almost non- existent, you either get a kiss on the cheek or she will flash her tits or other dumb shit.

Playing this game is the equivalent of toying with cat emotions making them chase lasers; when they finally catch it, they get nothing.

That alone is deserving of 0 stars but here goes anyway:

has a lot of the classic "land lady" and "roommate" stuff and does it well. def check this out if youre into sandbox games with that type of stuff and dont mind some grind

The game is really bad and boring.
The gameplay is just too repetitive, and the energy was just removed from the OG. It is annoying to always expect the same things.
The art is standard and boring, and every character looks the same after a while.
The sex scenes are not worth it.
I can´t think of any reason to play this.

v0.15.49

I loved it all the way up until it opened into a sandbox money grinder. All the excitement died then.

Still love the genre, but the atmosphere just dies once its a sandbox of clicks and skips on repeat.

Glad the game is getting a much needed revamp and love the new Darker "game over" scenarios as well as the updated looks to Bobby and the youngest sister. Thank you Ziptiefun...

Now for the negative.

The only things that stops me from giving it full 5 star rating are the rather unhelpful walkthrough hints, the needless grind (having to skip 6-7 days to trigger a different outcome or new event, and most irritating is the lack of new content. As an artist I know that "Man I wish this had turned out better" feeling when looking at old renders or paintings, but to waste 3 updates in a row with no new content just so you could go back and redo a few scenes with better lighting or posing is kind of a slap in the face for your fans.

A poor attempt to revive a dead game, the remake has no suggestions how to progress stealth , most quest chains unfinished and almost zero content .
Remake of store to catch shoplifter you need higher stealth yet in game I see no physical way to gain it .
overall the release feel unfinished even for as little content as it does have and if you did play the original years ago you will be disappointed at lack of continuity and attempts to streamline some areas.
i would not suggest down loading until dev get it ironed out in another 6 months if it hasn't gone abandoned by then

I keep seeing this pop up in "latest" yet I completed everything in 20 mins. I may be missing some stuff but CBA with the grind tbh. At this point, I thought there would be more, it's why I stayed away for so long. Looked interesting but sick of wasting my time on games that have no content/hidden content behind a load of mindless clicking. It's 2023 people, stop using these crappy assets and MAKE A GAME

This game could have had some potential, but it is clear the dev has no idea what he is doing at this point.

The sandbox part of the game, is absolutely atrocious.
You'll basically spend the vast majority of the "game", skipping entire days or weeks, non stop, just to trigger a single event, that you'll have to redo several times, for... reasons.

The beginning of the game, before the actual real sandbox part starts, is quite ok, things progress at a decent enough pace. Once this is done, it's just grind grind grind for money, redoing the same bullshit job, catching the exact same thieves, non stop. It literally, goes nowhere.

Nothing's even close to be finished, while this game has been around for years, the progression is absolutely non-existent. If anything, it even seems to be going backward for some reason.

I'd usually only give a single star for something like this, but, the renders are pretty decent.

The English level, is absolutely atrocious, with several mistakes per sentences.

The ONLY redeeming feature, aside from the decent renders, are that the game over, are not real game over and will bring you back to the choice point. Aside from that, this game is a massive pile of shit.

Very nice continuation of the original game.
perfect integration of orignal model and scenes.
nice events that are even going beyond what the original game showed.

I would give 6 stars if possible.

It's nice to see someone's releasing content for this game! It's long overdue. I hope you keep up the great work.

1 note: Please keep the dark stuff in there or add an optional dark patch we can download. I understand some people are overly sensitive and don't want in in their game as an option.

I'm talking about stuff like the Lucy Game over scene that was replaced with a half-conscious BJ. It made the content go from exciting to boring.

Dark stuff is what makes this version so much more entertaining than the original. Please keep it in the game or allow people to download it as optional content. "Dark Path" should have as much dark stuff as possible. If not in the vanilla game, then at least in a patch we can add.

The game is ok but the dev is as reliable as a crooked politician. Very little work, bullshit excuses and missing deadline by a mile.

Make no mistake about it, This game is ABANDONED and the dev is doing minimal effort just to avoid the abandoned tag and milk his patreon.

Seriously don't bother to waste your time on this game.

I didn't play either of the most recent updates because players have to restart the game in order to see the new content in them. This game was painful to play the first time around and I'm not about to experience the pain all over again. I'm out until I see a [Completed] tag, which, at the current rate of progress, is unlikely to ever happen.

Review for Bad Bobby Saga: Dark Path v0.15.486 (part4):

Summary: Don't bother. It'll be a long time before this game is worth playing.

Story: 2/5: There really isn't any kind of a coherent story here. It's just a bunch of tangents about the lives of the various love-interests in the game.

Writing: 2/5: It's bad. Mostly "Engrish"

Renders: 3/5: The models are good, but the renders seem fuzzy and not very detailed or very high resolution.

Animations: 2/5: Jerky and way too long without being able to just skip to the end of the animation.

Gameplay: 1/5: Another insanely grindy, mind-numbingly boring, empty, and buggy sandbox. The avatars that show which characters are in each location are frequently wrong especially when there is an event at the specific time and location, which is exactly when they need to be correct. The color-coding of the choices and the avatars is frequently wrong, too. The hint system is vague, sometimes repeating quests, sometimes completely misses quests, and it gives hints to things that aren't yet implemented, so players can grind forever thinking there's more content to see when there isn't. On top of that, making money is randomized. Gameplay just sucks.

Content: 2/5: There's really not enough content in this game to bother downloading, and if you played the first two attempts at this game, you've already seen it all, anyway.

Other: I keep playing every update and I always coming to the same conclusions above. There are so many half-implemented things but there is also so much re-used content it makes me expect a bunch of things to just come together at once, but it never does. This game really hasn't been fun to play at all and if the save games ever break, there's no way in hell I'd bother starting over.

Dev is a lier. Updates are insignificant, extremely short and a serious lack of content. Let's not even mention that sex animations are very weird. Seems like dev has no idea about where the dick is supposed to be placed... Well, not gonna waste more time on this, not worth it

It's no surprise this game has such a low rating, because it follows the same rhythm as the original that was abandoned. At least the game was better worked, reducing the grind but still continues with that boring sandbox, that in addition the game still has very few scenes. We can also notice a bit of the dev's lack of creativity, the game has "game over" scenes even though he is warning you that this choice will lead to game over and even then you will be able to watch it and after loading your last checkpoint save, I could tell there was no need for it, the game is Bad Bobby Saga, you will behave like a bad boy, who will try to find ways to manipulate, dominate and harass the girls, but this looks like it still hasn't been worked out very well, since with this instantaneous behavior it will take you to a game over.

The game for me is ok, but I ended up giving up after 30 minutes of gameplay. Maybe it's a matter of patience, but you see that there are few scenes for a game of almost 2.5gb which ends up frustrating a little. Nonetheless, the copy of this game is better than the original, at least the interface is clearer and you don't have to do those boring mini-games either.
I could see some bugs where the image does not appear in certain scenes (Lucy) and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

v0.15.48 review

Grindy and boring with a mediocre English translation (lots of capitalization and spelling errors). The models are incredibly dated (pubes in particular look terrible). There's no real plot: you have a wet dream about your mom and then jump to step 4 of wanting to have sex with your entire family. You don't even really get introduced to any of them.

Progression doesn't make sense. For example, you want to see what's on your sister's phone so you sneak into her room but, darn, it's locked. So you figure out the password and decide to wait until she leaves it alone and you can look at it. Then you never do and instead the plot changes to her being blackmailed by some guy at school and you never mention her phone again. As a result, there's no real logic to this game, you just do whatever the in-game guide says until you see porn.

The linear progression is made worse by the sheer grind of it. Pretty much every quest involve actions that are only available at one specific time on two or three specific days and you need to do them 5-10 times. And since you can't do anything else until you do them there's LOTS of just skipping days or grinding money just in case while you're killing time.

Some of the early-game pictures are broken in this release. I couldn't find anything in the thread so it must be a new bug.

Overall there's just not much to recommend this. Some of the scenes are kind of sexy but it's not worth the grind. If there's a way to view the gallery maybe do that instead.

Whatever you do, don't give dev money until their release track record improves. The game is quite possibly abandoned.

I appreciate the game over scenes that add the ability to have dark, forced scenes during the early, slow build up phase that many of these corruption games have. Basically you push things too far, and instead of an immediate game over there is a forced scene. A game over flash appears, and the game automatically brings you back to the point of no return where you can pick the more subdued choice this time. These forced, "non-canon" scenes help remedy some of the fatigue often found in the early stages of corruption games where all the women are still reserved. The images are a little pixelated, but the animations are pretty smooth and so the overall graphics are pretty good. The scenarios themselves are all wonderful. A decent bit of grind, but not an egregious amount.


It would be an easy 5 stars, if not for the lies from the dev teasing along the Patrons. To give a timeline since last update:

- 08 Dec 2022: Version 0.15.47 releases
- 20 Dec: Dev promises Christmas special to release in the next couple days (spoilers, doesn't happen)
- 01 Jan 2023: Dev says the Christmas update will come out in a couple days, and that they plan to do two smaller releases before the next main update in February. So three releases by the end of February (spoilers, there won't be one update in this period)
- 17 Jan: Dev reports they were down with the flu, and the Christmas update will be out in two days (spoilers, doesn't happen)
- 20 Jan: Dev says that the next release will be 24Jan (spoilers, doesn't happen)
- 24 Jan: Does not release Christmas update due to "bugs"
- 29 Jan: Dev pauses Patreon billing due to delays. However billing will resume on 24 Mar, before any update is released
- February: Two posts about swatting "bugs" and all the new content to be included in the next release
- 16 Mar: Dev acknowledges they've been quiet lately, and that they will post weekly updates going forward. We get a full one of these weekly updates on 24 Mar before they come to a stop.
- 24 Mar: Dev claims that they only have one scene to complete before releasing next update. Resumes Patron billing
- 27 Mar: Dev claims that next version will release on 31 Mar (spoilers, doesn't happen)
- 31 Mar and 01 Apr: Dev claims that due to slow internet speed he is unable to upload, and therefore he brought his rapey incest porn game to work to upload it there. Only to have brought the wrong version, and then be out of town, so he needs to wait until 03 Apr to upload. The dev has been absolutely silent since then, even though it is visible that he logs into F95.
- 16 Apr: This review, with the game still at version 0.15.47 and still waiting on the Christmas Update, and three weeks after billing was resumed.

I get that most people on this site are getting the game for free, and don't have a reason to get ferociously upset about long time between updates. But when the dev keeps teasing along the people who are giving money then that is why this otherwise 5 star game only gets 2. I'll reevaluate this rating if a couple of updates are released on or near schedule, but at this point the game may be abandoned

Truly amazing mod. these content what I (we) expected on the original one. I see ppl complained about the grind but i think the rate is just how it supposed be for the content.
To say something as criticism, i would say, it would much nicer if the dev increase the amount of pics used on scenes. Showing different angles on same scenes was the one of my favourite thing in the original game.
