Boosty. Would you support the dev through it?

Are you familiar with the crowdfunding service Boosty?

I live in Russia and am currently developing my visual novel for adults. Unfortunately PayPal and Payoneer have stopped cooperating with Russian banks and there is no possibility to withdraw money from Patreon, Subscribe Star etc. Therefore I wanted to know the answer to my question: would you support a developer on Boosty in the absence of Patreon and its western analogues? ( Boosty has a way to pay for subscriptions using PayPal )

I understand that most people feel Patreon is more convenient and perhaps safer, but that's the reality for me.

Stay safe and take care, please.

Never ever heard of that one.
I can only speak for myself, but I don't trust my credit cards/other financial information to some dizzy company that no one knows about.

No and tbh, I would suggest trying to use alt banking like Chime if possible. IDK how it works over there in the land of Vladimir's Pootin though. Banking laws, etc. I am just a human.

Ok, after some search, I guess you are talking about this ; Worth being said, because it's one of the nearly dozen "boosty" that was returned to me by Google.

At first sight it seem less shady than SubscribeStar. Unlike it, there's a real company behind (MY.GAMES B.V) that , and apparently is a subsidiary of VK (long journey to reach there so I'll not post all the links), a well known Russia social networks. This is a good point since it mean that unlike SubscribeStar, it's a platform that can be (almost) fully trusted ; "almost" because VK isn't without controversies and shadow parts, but in fact not really more that Facebook or other big social networks.

But what matter is the , and well...

Support one, yes, if I liked the game enough. Put my own game on there, no. I seem to remember a thread a while back about the terms and conditions of boosty basically saying that once you put your game on there, you essentially give them the right to do whatever they want with your game. I forget the exact details. I've also not checked it myself, so it's possible this is untrue/out of date.

I would support. SS, Patreon, Boosty, etc platform does not matter for me as long as the game is good and dev is a hardworker. Good luck.

Probably not.
Mostly because I'm already paying for subs on patreon and subscristar and wouldn't want to deal with another account.
Also for political reasons.

To be honest, I've supported many devs over the years (this isn't even my first account here) and more often than not I've been very burned. So now I choose to only really support smaller devs for games that I really like. At the moment that is two devs...

I don't like what patreon is doing to devs now, so I understand the need for alternatives and I AM willing to move, but the dev that gets me to make another account on another payment site would have to frankly be making something really incredible.

TLDR; In theory yes, but practically speaking you'd have to make something incredible for me to make a boosty account.

If you read more carefully, you can see. Such content should not be placed in the public domain, so that it is not seen by teenagers. This means that such content can only be posted for subscribers. But this applies only to hand-drawn and 3d porn. If someone makes a game with real porn, then you can't. And you can't post fetishes like incest, furry, etc.

[note: the emphasis is from me]
"5.4 Adult Content. You can post Creator Content containing nudity or posts on mature themes (“Adult Content”) on the Boosty Platform as long as you and your Content comply with these terms, especially the Code of Conduct and mark your Blog as “Adult” in its setting in order to hide it from minors. Both nudity and implied nudity as the gimmicky censorship of breasts and genitals, sheer/see-through clothing, and overly sexual poses shall always be marked as Adult Content. However, you cannot post Adult Content in public areas of your Account including your profile picture, ‘about me’ section. Any Creators featuring Adult Content on their Blogs cannot offer any Content that is limited to a single user, such as a custom video or audio file specifically created for one user. It is also prohibited to create a Blog with Adult Content for one user. Users can actively participate in your creative process only for as long as the benefits of your Blog (i.e. its Content) are delivered to a larger group of users."

It don't really feel like it goes against their interdiction of "pornographic or sexually explicit" content.
And I don't refer only to the fact that they talk about nudity. Why bother to talk about "overly sexual poses" when you intend to also authorize explicit sexual activities ? And why don't even talk about those explicit, or even implicit, sexual activities, when you goes as far as to talk about "overly sexual poses" ?
