VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Bounty Hunter X [Ep. 1] [StaffOfMagic]

Not a big fan so far.

1. The game is too short, even for a first release. I assume that the dev was just very exited to release their first game, but in my opinion it should take more than 10 minutes to finish, especially when including all the choices. I hope that the second release will be much longer.
2. The renders could be better. There is quite a bit of grain in some renders. It's weird, since some of them are fine, but maybe the render settings were changed between the renders. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. It's inconsistent, which is worse than just being bad all the time, because it becomes noticeable. If the devs' PC isn't strong enough to make high quality renders, then maybe they should be lower quality, but consistent. There is also a possibility of just asking someone for help with this, as I'm sure there are many people here willing to help with advice or hardware. As for the animations, I like them*. It's nice to see animations and not just stills like in so many games made with ren'py. There's also a few of them, so it'll probably be a standard in this game, at least I hope so.
   *The quality of renders drops A LOT when animations start to play. I understand why, it's harder to render a few dozen images in high quality than just one, but it's such a big difference I just had to point it out.
3. Writing is laughable. I don't mean to offend the dev, but it just reads like an elementary schoolers' assignment (minus the porn part). The dev has no writing experience, and it shows. It's especially noticeable when you look at the alien races' description.
   "The Cyons have conquered many worlds and enslaved many races to serve them in different ways, the races they cant conquer they destroy and so they have complete control in their own galaxy."
   If you read this without context, you'd think that a child wrote this (at least that's what I'd think). There is a lot to improve. Then again, I understand that improving your writing is a very hard and time-consuming process, so I can kind of forgive this one, but I hope that with time and experience the devs' writing will improve.

All in all, a decent game, with decent potential. I'm waiting to see future releases, and hope that they'll be an improvement over this. The models are alright, even if it's hard for me to identify with an old, hairy guy as the MC. I wouldn't recommend playing the game in 1.0, unless you really have nothing better to do with 10 minutes of your life.

Really liked the story.
Its to the point and fun.
Hope there will be more added to it.
Without turning into a drag as some other of these tend to do.

Short at the moment (To be expected from it's release stage)
Renders are overally quite good, they can vary in quality but are mainly nice to look at. Animations are present and again well done apart from the fact the quality seems to drop drastically? Seem like the animation renders are at a lower resolution or something (Dunno not my forte but yeah)
Storyline could be interesting, be fun to see where it goes.

Sexual variety so far is good, not often a male character is up for a extra long alien tongue in his ass but yeah if that's in the first release I'm definitely excited to see what else comes out.

The MC himself, bit older looking, not a bad thing again just added variety.


Overall It's getting 4 stars because some things could be worked on in regards to animation quality and the fact the flashbacks seem a bit awkwardly inserted into the story.
That aside, very interesting start and will like to see how it progresses.
