I know you are going for variety of options in progression, but I just want to encourage this route.
Essentially, the most standard Japanese style netorare. The play through where the male Mc is the good guy archetype, forming bonds (platonic) with other female npcs but remaining faithful to his gf. And then let all female characters fall to corruption from the bad guy bull (female Mc could help this along when corrupted enough, or simply be a witness to it, acting as the players' eyes).
That said, I personally think you are biting off more than you can chew. Dual protagonist story is already a handful, but you want to make it playable with just one, freely choosing which Mc to play on the fly? On a technical writing level, it might be challenging. How will you keep the story flowing along nicely when players might miss whole sections by not playing one side? By only including non-essential elements in the individual sections? What about the timeline? If you play one char and then switch, will it go back in time to see from other perspective? Or will it just progress the time line from where the other Mc left it? If it goes back in time, there might be danger of logic errors if one of the mcs does things that don't match the other side's story.
I don't think it's impossible. But in practical terms, the way to address these potential problems is extreme attention to detail and variations based on flags/variables, or limiting very much what type of content is available on individual sections (limit to night roaming or something).
Anyways, good luck. Maybe you already addressed some of my concerns in the game. I haven't played this on yet. I'll let it cook some more before trying.
I agree I'm biting off a lot, but I'm passionate about the project and don't want to cut content just to make it easier for me. I'd really rather stick the game I want to make even if it takes me longer to do it. It is much less complicated with how the main story can be progressed independent of the corruption side routes. As for the progression in switching MC's its just treated as the other has been working on dealing with their issues. So El has been looking into getting the brand removed and Cam investigating the tome. In reality they do nothing during this time as it would then truly become far too much scope to have them independently progress things, which does lead to the awkward dissidence of their content being "on pause" while playing another, but this is the best middle ground for scope and ease of player experience I could go with without adding a "you now to go bed and play the day as Cam" as I wanted it to be entirely player driven who you play and when so you're not forced to then play as Cam only to instantly skip and go to bed straight away as you only want Eloras content or because you want to keep progressing Eloras stuff before swapping.
If you can play the game without ntr with the pure love route will there be the same amount of content as the curuption route or is it just one of them games that make you believe you can change things but you just end up getting 1/10th of the content? Thanks
Pure love route will be 100% possible and have a solid amount of content. I've not got round to the next lot for it yet given the corruption content has been a more popular focus and very fun to work on in these early stages. You will eventually be able to go on a variety of dates with the other MC with many loving and also spicy interactions and scenes involved. On top of these there will be side scenes with them around town as well as tie ins and interactions in other routes.
I waited some updates to play this game and I have to say it's pretty good. Dev is doing an amazing work with the paths and art (renders and animations). Here's some feedback tho.
About the questlogs, would be fine when you finish one, marks as completed, don't know if it was a bug but I watched how they where going below and status: on going.
When I went to the mansion for the Duke with Elora after the dinner, he was missing, don't know if I need more corruption, maybe some tip for unlock the scene would be fine (The classic, you need 40 of corruption to continue this path, or something like that).
About the content, I watched you have polls, but focus on the routes you have already. I say this because I saw someone asking for futa on male, don't think this game is for this, in the end obviously you decide, but there are already many paths and sub paths to follow with good plots; with 2 MC no less.
Thanks for the compliments and the feedback! The questlogs act as the step by steps for a characters side route, so I was originally only planning to close them once you completely reject a route or once it is fully complete, rather then offering a new quest for every step of the route.
El can't start working at the Duke's yet, that's where that content ends atm. I was planning to start that this next update but given the Duke performed the lowest in El's poll I decided to put focus immediately elsewhere.
As of my work right now on 0.4 all "main corruption" paths are in or started and new editions will only be side quests with one or a handfull of scenes and no real full route for (like the Finn side quests for example). Once these routes are then done, I'll be looking to go back and add in the variations for them, such as the Dominating Charlotte variant or maybe the Cam x Jen stuff. But these will be more like icing on the cake.
A real solid RPGM game, definitely one of the better ones out there. The writing and game design is really good. Reminded me of a few Japanese games.
I especially enjoyed Jen's route, as I REALLY like futa x female with NTR. My only real concern is that there seems to a broad scope of NPCs with different focuses. Which is great in theory, but the depth of each path might suffer.
I'm considering becoming a supporter, but I'm afraid I might only enjoy a small portion of your game. Is there any roadmaps or goals to the project you have currently?
Thank you for the really kind words! There is certainly a large scope but I'm determined to make each route fleshed out and fun despite the broad content. It might take me a while but I can assure you im here for the ride. As for roadmaps, I don't have any set in stone ones, the main focus is on progressing each route, while also every update I'm trying to flesh out a part of the world to makeit more robust and repeatable. Like the bar in 0.3. After the last polls I can tell you that one or more of Seren, Charlotte, Jen and Vanessa will receive content every update due to being the most requested routes atm.
Just a suggestion based on the dual protagonist theme, perhaps splitting the game narrative from game start might work out better than freely toggling between groups. Or alternatively, mimic Last Sovereign's approach: 3 paths during the first narrative branch, the player has to do them all (but they can choose the order with no effect on the others), and then the final path opens up. In the context of this game, having each protagonist operate independently until a joint checkpoint basically.
Thank you for the suggestion btu I'd rather focus on progressing new content the reworking bits I've already done at the moment. The prologue is meant to be a linear introduction with El and Cam together for most until it then branches to give you a day as both to get a taste for the main story bits of each and also some of the corruption temptations around. I want to keep the free roam entirely player driven so they can play it exactly how they want, be it all Cam, all El, alternating both, doing mostly Cam then swapping etc.
Turns out you gotta go to sleep before getting it.
I added it when sleeping to ensure that old and new saves alike would get the journal fine and no one would be locked out of it by using an old save.
