Others - Broken Dreams Correctional Center [v0.1.11 Fix1] [RahiMew]

This review is based on my ~12 hours play of v0.0.22 Bugfix 1.

No bugs whatsoever. The writing is good. The mood is good.

Promising but lacking some contents (to me at least).

I don't want to be dominated or abused by any NPCs so I beat almost everyone up. Aaaaand I cannot progress normally.

Then I open dev options and see a lot of flags about how NPCs abuse the main character. Suddenly I start to wonder whether this game suits a person like me.

Very good, a good time even in this early version.

I hope to see more fetish stuff during normal interactions, it's a bit limited for now.

If you're hesitating try it, it's really nice. The few characters are nice, and the setting makes sense.

A great game. If I would describe it using other games it would be Lilith's throne + degrees of lewdity, and since it's two of my favorites, naturally I liked this game. Very cool dynamic animation system, something similar to that of Degrees Of Lewdity, but it's better since it's not just predrawn couple of scenes. Also, the story is great too, but sadly not finished yet. The game has about 2-3 hours of content, if you plan to see everything, the story is about 1-1,5 hours, featuring a few different characters you can interact with and of course, random encounters. Wish all the best to the dev and looking forward to new updates!

Review for Broken Dreams Correctional Center [v0.0.22 Bugfix 1]

I am not much into text-based games. Especially when there's no visual content to support it. But this game provides basic but lovely animations and customizations. Just like Degrees of Lewdity, this game promises a good fighting mechanic with h-content that is well spread around the game. I definitely recommend this game.

Verdict: 10/10. A masterpiece in the making.

Lilith Throne in prison, very promising. Paperdoll idea with awesome animation, the simple walking is just soo smooth, I can't wait to see more of those! Writing needs to be worked on to create better characters and more consistent quality. Really looking forward to the following updates of this project!

I absolutely love this game to bits, it is like Lilith's Throne combined with TiTS, but where "small breasts" arent double d's, where roughing someone up actually means breaking a paw or two sometimes, where non-con isnt usually hidden behind a veil of "oh, you are drugged to oblivion and so on.

And Im a sucker for the type of personal story as it is presented with some characters here, tragic backstory might be seen as cheesy by some, but the writing paints a picture very well in my opinion, it did hit me hard in the feels a few times too.

(And the animation system with the "paperdolls" is just such a relativetily subtle, yet powerful addition!)

Played for a bit, the fighting system is serviceable. The gameplay seems a bit loopsided in favor of subs and seems to try to actively punish you for beign a dom but that could be a fault of the setting more than anything. Otherwise the game is ok.
Only complaint is that non furry content seems close to zero. As furry does nothing for me the game was unbearably boring. Just keep that in mind.

Excellent setting, the character creation is good, I enjoy the characters alot and their art makes then pretty different from each other and the dynamic character silhouette was a very welcome surprise.

From now on I'll follow this games progress, I hope they can build upon the story and add more to the sandbox elements.

First of all, I've played most of the games that this game is taking clear inspirations from, CoC, TiTS and Degrees of Lewdity, For me CoC and TiTS don't really do it for me, I don't enjoy reading, Atleast not when were talking about porn games, But Both this and DoL do a very good job of still providing a visual, while the text gives context. PERFECT, I love what we have so far, It's quickly elevated to one of my all time favorites, It's early on, but the content we have so far is great. The only thing I can say is I wish we had more content when just roaming around, see DoL, but maybe less intense. Plus while the animations could use a little more polish, they still do a very good job. I can't wait for more updates!

One of the best games i played in this category, i generally don't bother writing reviews but this game simply feels very good and it deservers every bit of support it can get. BDDC is a game with a lot of mixes of fetishes and what seems like a very interesting story. The animations help with giving a bit of life into the text element of the game and it feels more than just reading a giant text wall since you are able to see most of the times what is happening.
It would be nice for a few more clothing options to be available and further enhance the leveling but it has a very solid foundation and it has a potential to be one of the best games in this genre.

This came a bit out of nowhere for me, and I am loving it. From a technical perspective, the game runs smooth as silk, the UI is sleek and clean, it has native binaries for most platforms - perfection. Gameplay and combat is fun and well thought out, and doesn't get in your way or feel like filler/time wasting. Your "lewd" stats actually affect your combat abilities, and the skill/perk system seems extremely well designed. There isn't much in terms of visuals but the animated paper doll system works really well and has a lot of potential.

Gameplay-wise, as other reviewers mention, it plays a bit like Lilith's Throne. Except smoother, less buggy and with a better UI. There also seems to be more focus on narrative-driven events and quests instead of random combat encounters. I really hope that is the direction the game is going, as I appreciate a well told story a lot more than smacking random NPCs every other tile.

And best of all - the game is open source (made in Godot) and seems to already have a fairly mature mod API, as well as an in-game mod browser and a few available mods. This game has a ridiculous amount of potential and a solid foundation, and already has hours of fun - absolutely looking forward to more!

Despite the overwhelming cringe i feel in my soul whenever I have to talk to Tavi, I still really enjoy this ss13 inspired thingie-mabob. Writing is pretty high quality (besides some character dialogue from the rainbowdogs)

The combat is definitely not half bad, honestly surprised. The animations are a neat addition to a text-based genre... and the descriptions themselves aren't bad at all. It has solid potential and i'll be keeping an eye out to see how it progresses.

Incredible. I hope this gets a lot of love, because it already is just awesome. Finally a text based game that also has good visuals. Also the mini stories of the important characters were well done, it feels like you actually have some impact on them and are not just NPCs to F around with.

This is basically like Degrees of lewdity in a different settings and not restricted to being a victim only. That's the only thing I dislike about DoL, and here you can easily be the offender and you also have way more control over the encounters. I am sure the battles are gonna get expanded with tons of options to be on par with other great text games. I hope the progress also gets eventually expanded and slowed down.

I would love the possibility to play as a semi-pure character and slowly get corrupted etc., there is just something fun about not being able to do something scandalous but slowly becoming more and more unhinged. Maybe expand the starter settings, like if you pick a Prostitution as a crime, you can have access to most of the lewd behavior immediately, but if you pick framed one you get a virgin run with very low sex knowledge and you have to try to defend yourself instead of whoring out. And maybe a start for exhibitionism where you go around teasing, but avoiding pen sex etc. Being able to just get fucked immediately without any cons, essentially freely win every encounter feels not that fun to me. Granted you can RP it out.

All and all, I have to keep an eye out for this one. It immediately became one of my favourites, and esp. best text based game already.

This has absolutely disgusting potential.

It's like a big mix of Corruption of Champions, Karryns Prison and Lilith's Throne, with actual animations and a crude paper doll system (hope that gets updated, but a great placeholder so far). Not too far along yet but looking forward to updates. Also big fan of the preg content, keep em coming.

As of v0.0.22:
It has much more promising foundation / frame than "Trials in the Tainted Space" and "Lilith's Throne" which it drew inspiration from:

• Clean UI;
• Cool paper doll and animation, in a nice and simple art style;
• Clean Combat/RPG elements that's not a hinder/grind to it's porn core
• Out-of-gate modding support, even has build-in machine translator;
• Smut is good with enough details;
• Writing and setting also feels good.
• Has its unique thing going on in the form of bdsm, dom/sub and prison.

The only thing lacking if I'm to nit-pick is the arts,
but it can easily be solved with how easy to access modding.

Definitely interested to see what it will become!

this is how you make a text based game.

the english is fine, not overly complicated, not too simple. typos are rare and the grammar is fine. there is already enough content for like 10+ hours if you don't try to speedrun. (lots of interesting sex scenes/quests with named NPCs)

there is a good animation on the right showing what's happening. similar to degrees of lewdity but it's not done with sprites but with 2-3d animated shadow-like figures where the details change based on race/gender/some other attributes like hair etc. but the figures are mostly colorless white.

there are random encounters where the sex so far seems basic where you have multiple options for sex and fight but it's the same for most encounters.

and then there are very well written scripted interactions/encounters which are unique, usually with named story NPCs. multiple of these instances can make you hornier than games with 3d graphics.

story: you are in a futuristic prison. planning your escape. i assume there will be more maps. but the prison already has many unique scenarios I've never seen in any game before, but i don't want to spoil.

you can change a lot of things, how frequent which race encounters are, and what fetishes you don't want. so if you want no furries or only furries, you can do that, if you want futas, or gay stuff or not. so imo it's perfect.

lots of possibilities in a futuristic sci-fi as well so dev has all the basic recipes down for success. it's already really good.

I've played for a while and I must say this is pretty good, I love the graphic aspect of the game that you can see some actions It's awesome but as one of the posters suggested I would love to see an option to pick or sliders for population in the prison. I don't mind furries but I would love to see more humans.

Looks like Lillith's throne, but with animations. and this great! Looking forward for more futures like more races, transformation, make-up, maybe even build own slave-house.
