Hello Everyone. I'm starting a new project (like so many others) and would like to share my ideas, and question.

Here are the bases on which the game will be built. I'll create CGs with illusion studio. The engine is still in the air (not a VN) and i'm considering RPGmaker and GODOT (which is scary for a beginner like me). Since i'm broke AF, the accessiblity of free assets is important, at the beggining at list, less so if I can monetize the game at some point.

I removed some information on the characters, to prevent hard spoilers, and since i do not wan't to add trigger warning here (some really bad stuff happened to our charaters before the game)
First ideas:
Working title: The broken heart: first respondent

Working characters:

Alicia Whitaker Young girl, in high school. She suffers from a rare heart disease that requires daily medication. This medication is extremely expensive. Since she just turned 18, the government doesn’t provide the medication’s fee anymore, and she needs to find the means to save herself. She is in an elite school, preparing to pass selection exams for the best universities. Bright and hard-working, she now needs to balance her scholarly life with the necessary job(s) that she needs to work in order to survive. Her heart problems started after a car crash, two years ago, in which her mother died. She’s now waiting for a heart transplant. Her father’s a deadbeat. She has multiple abusive stepfathers. She is in love with John. She knows him from their childhood. They moved to the city together, but live apart (John’s parents are extremely conservative and so is he, to a lesser extent). Kind, smart, and always willing to help, she is candid, stubborn, and has a strong sense of independence. She has no problem making friends, but has a hard time maintaining relationships with them. She has explored by herself some of the pleasures of the flesh, but chose, out of love, to preserve herself for her expected wedding with John. She has a strong libido, waiting to awaken. Due her condition, she has a heart rate monitor. John is her first respondent.

John Baptiste: Coming from a « pillar of the community family », he was raised in an extremely strict environment, where love is always conditional and appearances prevail over everything. Ordinarily smart, but hard-working, he understood at a young age that gods-plan is not an excuse for laziness. Former choirboy. (...) and he despises the lustfull sinners surrounding him. Is in love with Alicia, or more precisely, with the Alicia he fantasizes about. She was his only joy in childhood, and ever since her mother's death, he’s been doing everything in his power to help her, despite her reluctance (she's very independant). They already confessed their love and are waiting 'till graduation to formally betroth each other. Has been entrusted with the heart monitor, and is responsible for the safety of Alicia.

Gameplay loop:
The player controls John as he goes through his days. He must at the same time, work is future test subjects, and work part-time jobs to help Alicia pay her treatment. Everyday is split in 4. Morning and afternoon for school. Evening and night for work. Every actions in school has a base return (study history: +4 general knowledge) but they are modified by a value called faith, which applies a percentage buff to the trained attributes ( +100% at max faith). Faith is lowered with every action, but can be refiled at night trough prayers. Max faith can be increased on Sunday morning, or by denouncing degenerate action to the priest (confession). Faith is lowered when witnessing Alicia’s "activities". At the end of every week, money will be used to buy medication. If not enough money has been stored, Alicia will find way’s to make more of it quickly. She might even skip school to work ! Which is bad because, since if her test fails, she will have to stay longer at school to work, and won’t be able to make money for her medication.
The objective is to allow the player to prevent the corruption, but making it really hard.
The player can also work where Alicia is working to try (but maybe fail) to prevent actions from the bulls. The heart monitor his used to great tention and drama. Why is it beeping like that ?

Part time job idea :
-Barmaid (will level up to cosplay maid and then to « gentlemans club »)
-Community service (start at feeding homeless people to working at the shelter and after that, stress relief activities)
-School service (activated by success at the exams) (private tutoring of low scoring student, giving them self-confidence and reward for success)
-Saleswoman for a clothing brand (might include live demonstrations).-unlock model job (model, gravure, actress)
-Church service (cleaning, helping the priest, helping the believers (confessions))
-Secretary (if money is really not enough, she will contact one of her stepfathers to find a job. She might discovers opportunities in this one (office work to office slut).
-Sportsclub manager (she was an elite athlete before the accident).

Love interest mechanics:
Alicia has two variables that will determine her actions : stress and lust.
Stress will increase from part time jobs, lack of money and failure at exams (a lot more stress from these last two). She will have to release her stress someway, which will increase lust. Problem, the more lust she has, the more likely she will be to get into stressful situations.
She will be on the map, randomly going to her part time jobs. School time is fixed for two of them (morning/Afternoon), but she might work instead at some point, if becomes necessary.

Forgive grammar mistakes, english is not my first language, but i'll work hard on it to prevent the mistakes to spill into the game.

Bro, audacious as fuck hahaha, the idea for the game seems solid and could work, the heart monitor is a cool touch (for scenarios like, when it gets too high John calls Alicia to check on her and such and listen to things that could take faith away, or if luck she is just working and faith raises), the demand for side screen/mystery ntr is always there, but being honest, it's a hell of a game for a beginner.

RPGMaker has plenty of assets/plugins to use, free or pirated, but the logic and integration can be trick, some tend to end up as a lagging mess pretty quickly.
Godot is gaining traction lately but it's not an engine i would advise tackling into thinking you will quickly put together something good that sells well.

But one can only wish good luck, the idea do seems interesting for those who like skill issue NTR games.

Thank you. It is clearly ambitious. I'm thinking of making a first part (introducing the charaters and the world+ some mechanics) as a proof of concept. I don't expect to deliver anything in the next 6 months to be honest.

Hello everyone, hope you are doing well.

progress has been steady. I've settled for RPGmaker (MZ) for the game. The eventing feels chockinly simple for the time being, but I know I'm under dunning-kruger effect. Here is a link to a video, showcasing one of the main mechanics of the game, as well as common dialogue between the John and Alicia.
As you can see, the maps are mostly sample maps, and look pretty rough, but the priority for now is implementing the core mechanics. here is a list of the implemented mechanics:

School day (Knowledge and stress gain)
Weekly exam (Stress, faith, trust gain or loss)
End of the day tutoring by the MC
Medical exam and medicine payment (Stress, trust, lust, faith gain or loss)

I'll soon start tackling the eventing of sidejobs. So many events and switches, I can't wait. I love solving problems ^^
