Ren'Py - Broken Sky [v0.5.2 Public] [Wistala]

This one aint for me, don't know why it has high ratings but it might just be a me problem.

The start of the story could have been represented better instead of the Blue chick in a black background dumping the whole exposition on the player.

The storytelling is more on Tell rather than Show, instead of scenes playing you just see three jpegs vibrate and change emotions while you read a wall of text.

Don't know who enjoys this type of storytelling but it aint for me, you can't expect me to get immersed at the story and plot when all I see are jpegs, AI backgrounds and a wall of text. Fight scenes don't exist too, just as many jpegs as before, some vibration and music.

Sex scenes are a miss too since they're just four separate frames looping, one for before entry, one for entry, one for during, one for finishing. Four still images looping and some sound effects.

Giving this two stars, one for the female models and one for effort I guess.

This is the game with a great story and content. Thanks the Author and Developer for a nice scenery , great story , cool characters and etc.Recomendcion( i hope there will be a second part or something similar with even bigger story or the game's progression and development )

This game has crazy potential, and I loved what's there already. My only complaint is that there isn't more yet. I've never paid for a pornographic game but if this releases to steam I might have to change that.

Very pleasant surprise.

Lily's character could carry any game and I say that as someone who isn't typically into furries. She is an adorable cutie and probably enough to single-handedly hook me into the genre and unlock a new thing I enjoy.

Lovely art, nice story with agency and the addition of humans makes it more unique and blends it all nicely together into one cute package I will eagerly await updates to.

Would like to see some more NTR and femdom from Lily in particular, because her attitude towards the MC could fit it very well. And she has a certain capriciousness about her that just begs to be explored.

Overall, very nice. Good luck with the development! I'll sub for releases.

I'm enjoying the game's story so far, it's just beginning but it looks like it's going to be promising. I'm just missing a mission and scene guide because every time this game updates I have to use the option to unlock the entire gallery to see if there's new content and that's really annoying. A mission and scene guide would be really useful so we know what's new, other than that the game is really good.

So far the game is pretty short and demo-like, but that still means several hours worth of content with a fun story and endearing characters (before you're dumped into a feline girlfriend dating simulator sandbox segment). The character writing is not to my liking (the MC and his entire party is hot-headed and immature despite spending years in the army and/or being hundreds of years old), but the overall plot is clearly setting up some nontrivial moral choices. Recently Live2D started being added and it's quite a great addition. Overall, it's a pretty good game and worth checking out.

Ngl bro i played through the game on android and heres what i have to say:

The experience could be better(the buttons aside from prefs were placed inside the textbox and could not be seen much without increasing the opacity, besides it was very and i mean VERY hard to press some buttons (i struggled for 10 minutes trying to press the small hitbox back button has)

But thats enough critique..
Lets move onto the pros
So, it may come as pretty untrustworthy and hard to believe but, i dont play these games out of lust i do it just cuz of dopamine rush or just very good lore/gameplay.. i had originally thought this game to not be as good but i was blown away by the game in the end. The lore was very very addicting i must say, not only that but, the small easter egg when you click wistala out of curiosity in the menu you even get a phone call instantly.. (that shocked me and i was happy to see the dev actually put easter eggs) im also appreciative of the fact theres a huge variety of customizability in the game such as: no ntr no rape and stuff, the concepts of the systems planned for future uodates look cool indeed too! I can't wait till the human route is fully complete, also i do understand this game is NOT completed and so i can cut the dev some slack by not slamming their game, waiting to see future updates, good luck with the live2d thing and till then enjoy the 5 star!

I think adding Sandbox to the game was a mistake.

The first version of the game where we are simply told about the plot (quite interesting) and shown several hot scenes was much better than 0.2 and 0.3 combined.
You are simply thrown onto the map without any explanation and as they say "entertain yourself".
Right now my rating is 3/5 only because of the good start, but if future updates move in the same direction, it will be very sad to see how the developer killed such potential.

The story has be INVESTED!! It's a great balance between the hot stuff and lore. I rarely find myself enjoy games like these, but here I am looking forward to play more of this!!
Also, Lilly is way too hot like what even... Why do you have to get me falling in love like that? >.>

Very ambitious game with great art. If all the choices that are in the game so far actually get implemented, this is going to be one of the best furry VNs in existence imo. I really like that our MC has a lot of agency and can opt in/out of most content.

Right now it`s a very solid base and already has some great content. Hope the dev can avoid the curse of all furry VNs and actually get somewhere or even finish this.

Also the story is kinda cool. Won't win any awards for creativity I think, but very fun and relaxed so far.

Great beginning. This is one of those games I will forget for 2 years to go back to it with a TON more content. At this point it's like.. 20-30 minutes of content with a solid base for assessing what's going on, what's the options etc.

A very strong start but it needs a lot more work to be an effective proof of concept.
The dev has clearly put a lot of thought into this game's narrative RPG elements, the dialogue is fleshed out, there are choices and callbacks to those choices, it's all very ambitious.
The characters are well-written and interesting. I wish the dev had signposted more clearly that the bar scene was pivotal for whether or not you romance the furry girl, especially since he has multiple offroads from romancing her (choose not to go home with her, go home with her but tell her you don't want sex) but seemingly no onroad for those who make the ntr-adjacent choice of letting the other guy take the lead in the bar.
The general issue is that, when trying to make a heavily choice-based narrative, you run into a bit of a fractal dilemma, with the amount of required effort increasing exponentially as you give the player more agency in the story. The dev needs to be very clever and deliberate in order to avoid either overwhelming himself with work that can never possibly be finished or getting lazy and undermining the player's choices to the point they become meaningless. For example, regardless of which gang you decide to assist you'll be sent on the exact(?) same mission in the mountains. I get that reusing a single mission with slightly different contexts is a reasonable way to save time and effort, but this would be a perfect opportunity to invest in writing two completely separate missions. The player might not experience everything in one playthrough, but the people who really like your game will play it multiple times.
The current build of the game demonstrates that the dev can put together a linear VN experience, but he's yet to show that he'll be able to competently execute the "sandbox" that most of the game promises to be.
But, concerns aside, this is a far more promising title than 99% of the other renpy games on this site. Looking forward to seeing how it ends up.

Love the game and I hope you continue working on the game because this is the first and only game I've ever rated because this game is just that good, I love Lily's teasing and I enjoy the way the game is structured.

I've made a post in the thread (click here to see) going over the details of the cons, but honestly, I don't expect most peeps to notice such details, or even consider them flaws. Could easily be argued they're my own personal gripes.

I'm honestly tempted to give this intro a 5/5 rating, but I do feel the writing to be strangely vanilla, mainly because of the clash between trying to give nuance to the world, but not to the MC (or random npcs).

Interesting premise and setting. H-scenes are pretty good so far. You can choose to be a dom or sub so it'll change some how the h-scenes are played out. Hoping to see if choices are meaningful and story branches in future updates. The game (so far) does punish you for making bad decisions, either showing you the results of your decisions then leading to a game over or giving you "corruption" so that is nice.

Currently (V 0.1) the game ends off by introducing you to the more open parts, indicating that you will be allowed to choose how you spend your time as the game progresses - talking to different people and exploring different parts of the city.

Looking forward to the next update!

Awesome, first time playing and the story already got me hooked. One of the better written games out there ill be frank.

No cap, some of the loveliest art assets out there. Hope this project sees through to the end.

Story - 9/10

I don't like taking porn games too seriously as this is more of a hobby to me, something to do on a boring weekend night, however, the writing on this game and the storytelling really hits hard, I went to work the day after playing for an hour or so and couldn't stop thinking about what was coming next, the sex scenes feel just like a bonus at this point. The story doesn't have much branching right now, but the game is still in early development.

Art - 9/10

The character design is really good, facial expressions are top notch, but the characters could have a few more poses to express themselves and there could be some model interactions to help provide more immersion (e.g. when Wistala pats Lilly on the head), I hope this at least gets on the post-release roadmap so the game could have a more polished feel. Loved the cyberpunkish theme.

Scenes - 8/10

Scenes unfortunately are not animated, but the great art and excellent writing saves it, the sub and dom options are really well implemented, would be nice if the regular person route gave you the option to submit or try being dominant on the spot (although in a lower intensity then perma sub or perma dom). I really liked the extra touch and character interactions pre and post scene, it isn't the standard "they cum, instantly get cleaned and go on with their lives".

Gameplay - VN/10

It's a VN, you click and choose options. The best feature I can commend so far is the preference toggles, I can't express enough how much I hate seeing a game with jaw-dropping art and it be NTR only or having unavoidable NTR.

One of the best I've played so far! Keep up the hard work Wistala! It can be difficult at times but never give up! The hopes are high for this one. This is incredibly promising and I can't wait for the release!

At the time of this review being posted the game looks great with interesting characters, different choices to make and exciting story to witness. Heavy decision making focus is quite ambitious and I wish it will be there. Very promising project.
