F95s own statistics have determined this is a LIE.
Read the table i posted just above.

Just because a game is "male protagonist" doesn't qualify it for anything.

You may be surprised to figure out that 100% of the "gay" games have a male protag :LUL:

PS - oh. my. god. I just saw your "game"

Please do yourself a favor, never speak of good or bad games again. Your stuff is like an oxford definition of "garbage game". It is an anti-game.

In fact, i'm just going to make sure i never have to read anything from you again.

I don't even know why i still visit this site every day. Or any other porn game site.

Everything is just the cheapest possible garbage, like the daily flood of Koitatsu / Honeyselect games. Which are just the same character editor poses and ingame animations over and over. Realporn HTML was always a plague, now there's also the dreaded "AICG" tag.

The handful of remaining worthwhile games went from update cycles of 1-2 months to 3,4,5 months or even 1-2 years. With less and less content in each update.

Also the game content has completely changed. Where the dominant tags used to be MaleProtag, Incest, Sandbox and such, the vast majority of games is now about FemProtag, Futa, Gay in rigid VN or KN format.

In short, browsing the "Latest Updates" started to feel like i'm in a gayporn shop. Why am i even here?
There really isn't that much gay or futa content. If you think there is, it's in your head. If you want to avoid the stuff you mention, games with a female protagonists, VNs and HTML games are the biggest groups you want to avoid. And there are still 1000s of games with your preferences. That's like still more than all games with the gay and futa tags btw.

Bit much to call it the definition of a garbage game if you never tried. Even if you're autistically allergic to Koikatsu, futa and VNs.

Lol, I have never seen someone who explained how they have zero clue about social interactions, game development, human decency, morals, understanding what others may like having nothing to do with them being forced into anything, and just plain old bigotry all in one message. Kudos mate, you are one unique example of a human specimen. For the love of the future of our planet, I do hope you end up finding copious amounts of porn games that you love, so you do not end up copulating with someone else.

There are several reasons, and I'm sure most people have mentioned most of them. However, I also believe animations play a massive role in this too. In the past, animations weren't as common as they are now, and the community didn't demand them. Now, if a game doesn't have animations, there's 10 people a day demanding them.

Animations increase update time. Quality animations even more so. Granted, with a stable work flow, they realistically are less of a time sink, but it's still a time sink regardless. Especially bc most people just skip past them anyway. Furthermore, it creates a barrier of entry for new and inexperienced devs from creating their own game. So not only do I think they're a factor in dev time, but also a decrease in new and interesting games.

Why are the free games I am not supporting and marking snarky comments about to not putting "any effort" says a person unaware of the irony they are perpetuating.....
the patreon model is the problem with blaming the consumers, if you are taking 6-12 months + to update your game yet charging your patreon subs 5 bucks a month, are you really getting 30-60 dollars worth of content in the one update? I would posit there is not even a single game on this site worth 60 bucks for the entire game and yet devs expect people to shell out that amount of money for one update

Well you aren't charging patrons five bucks a month. They are giving you five bucks a month. May seem like semantics but there is a difference. Nobody is forcing you. You also aren't paying for a full priced game, you are supporting the developer hoping to eventually get a game. You are also supporting all those people who aren't paying the developer 5 bucks a month. Again there is a difference.

As to the main topic. As somebody already said this topic is broached every so often about how much things suck right now compared to the past. I made a post about it in the past outlining it in more detail but it boils down to: you only remember the gems and forget about all the shit made in the past. Same with music. The 60's (or whatever your preferred decade is to hold modern music to) wasn't better. you just remember the 10 - 100 songs that were good and forget the literal thousands that did make it to air, even got into a top 40 or whatever but where, well, bad.
If you look at random week in top 40 of your preferred decade you are lucky if you remember one song let alone two.

Yes, I realize this, which is why I am saying it is a garbage system from a consumer's perspective and a better model would just be to release the completed game on steam/itch for 15-20 bucks.

This is all perspective to a point. I agree that a patron is rarely getting "their money's worth" if you look at it from a consumer perspective, but if you look at it from the "contributing to an artists vision" pitch that patreon pushes...yada yada. Years ago I supported several games, but not any more. I tend to agree with you that the patron/support the artist approach is near dead. Hell, I think even devs tend to approach patreon from a consumer point of view these days. Not all of course, but enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Yet you missed my part about leaving "a positive review and spreading the word"..... you know things you can do if you hate Patreon/SubStar that much... There is always going to be an incredibly vocal group like you that exists and I am not out to debate "what people deserve" or pressure you or anyone else into doing anything you don't want to do. It's a waste of breath. I post weekly and try to update people regularly. Me personally, I do what I expect of others because I feel its the right thing to do imho. I speak for myself.

the problem is that there aren't really that many artist that deserves support that also needs it. People who have made great games like the ones I mentioned in my OP already make like 5k+ per month so another patron doesn't matter to them as much. Most other games either lack in quality (whether it's graphics or writing) or are updating way too slowly for it to be worth supporting. If you also take into account personal preferences (like avoiding futa, trans, gay games) it becomes an even narrower group to pick from, in my case zero.

Agreed, it's pretty bad and it needs to be said.

A few exceptions for me in the last year or 2 were, these games are all outstanding:
Star Knightess Aura, TurningThePage, Our Red String and ofc NTRLegend

Oh its one of those threads :KEK: :KEK:

The classic problem of the users who thinks there is no games to play. But in reality its there are no games they think they will like (or would even test) to play :HideThePain:
