You have a good point, still Windows always update their virus defences I think, and not every virus gets updated all the time so some of them must get caught as well, so if I was a game developer that trying to give people virus, after windows defender catching me with their anti-virus update it would be easy for me to just say ''guys guys, it's just false warning, just close your anti-virus app download my stuff, np.''if its microsoft defender its not rare to get false positive result when you make a program, devs can submit the files to microsoft to avoid this from happening.
Also if you have a habit of downloading pirated games, microsoft defender is not a good protection for you. In fact its more likely to catch a false positive than an actual virus because all the attackers expect people to have microsoft defenders on and would first test if their attack could bypass it. Its still better than nothing but you are a high risk user who downloads risky stuff from the internet all the time so you gonna need extra protection.
Sadly there is not much protecting ourselves, so hopefully people who control this website makes sure the stuff they share is safe.
Also honestly people who do strong viruses go after very rich corporations, etc, like they literally won't gain anything from people who pirate stuff, a lot of us doesn't even have a good computer for bitcoin mining, or have any amount of money lol, people who try to steal from poor gains nothing, and people who try to steal from the poor are not the best thieves - virus creators either.
