and the mc does NOT specify his relationship with himiko to ANYONE for some reason so it just leads to a bunch of random ass people kissing him when he doesn't feel the same

side note, more people besides arthur seem to want to hop on the mc, but at least those are non cannon.. if you do the alt scenes.. which come AFTER they already did it..

I feel like I made a mistake playing the nsfw version of Eiyuu Senki
I'm almost done, and at this point ive seen Himiko get ignored about 50 times, plus basically EVERY harem sex scene because they force you to watch them before playing the alt scenes.. which I believe are the ones from the sfw version of the game, as Himiko still hasn't had sex with the mc in her FINAL alt character mission.

But.. watching it and all the other scenes makes their relationship so much more pure than the nsfw one! The mc is so needlessly horny and accepting of love from literally everyone in the nsfw version as it's just made for horny people, but watching all the alt scenes turn the sex moments into "haha funny you thought" type stuff where no relationship with the random girls actually occurs, and Himiko actually gets alone time with the mc where they're truly actually in love with each other just feels SO much better.
The nsfw version of the game could've pretty easily accomplished this if they actually.. made the alt versions the normal ones and had a toggle or a gallery option for the scenes that appear in the actual game..

Now that I'm nearing the end of the game (and thus nearing the end of everyone's storylines), I'm finding myself skipping otherwise enjoyable scenes because i KNOW it's somehow gonna end up with them having sex for no good reason. If it's going to be harem, please don't make the mc have a literal love interest/WIFE.
I just feel bad for Himiko, they make such a big deal out of her getting married to the mc but ALSO make a big deal out of the fact that the mc is being crushed on by 50 other people, and making her feel ignored in the process.

I really, REALLY hope Gold (the sequel) has more content with Himiko. I feel awful having her get ignored and forgotten so much in the story when she really should be the only one on MC's mind.

tldr: the sfw version of the game has the mc actually faithful to Himiko, afaik. Nsfw version MC is a giant cheating (kind of, eiyuu senki nsfw is a harem game) horndog..

There's a big difference between random girls crushing on the MC, and him literally having sex with all of them at the end of their storylines. It's probably just the nature of nsfw games, if you want sex then you're gonna have to have harem or some people will be mad but..
When the mc is doing the whole "oh i love you lets have sex" to every girl that likes him (everyone) after like, 3-4 character missions on the lower end, it just doesn't feel right. There's no relationship or anything formed under such a short time, like it moves so fast that at one moment he's helping someone find their sword, and then another moment after she just confesses that her entire life is somehow owed to him and then they have sex somewhere instantly.
I like Enkidu, at least. All she wants are headpats from the MC, and I respect it, lol

Here's a happy Himiko to balance my unexpected anger at this game, though

I respect your opinion and taste for leaning more towards vanilla and heavily romance games, God knows I need some of those as well from time to time .

In my opinion, the game is fully on about romance and fits the narrative very well. The intro was really well written, enough that I didn't wanna skip it!
It has INSANE animations and every single scene is very well done... and hot as hell . I would be disappointed if some people would miss out on this great game just because of an obligated tag...

anyways.. back to complaining about harem

Spoilers for Eiyuu senki but, a major plot point (well, almost THE plot point from mid-late game) is how arthur/elizabeth gets mind controlled and turns on the MC. The reunion once she's freed is supposed to be really impactful and heartfelt, since in the sfw version it's ONLY her and himiko that actually have a relationship with the mc. The thing is, in the nsfw version, EVERYONE has a relationship with the mc. The whole "i love you, thank you for coming to save me" and everyone crying thing doesn't hit as hard when the mc has confessed to, and fucked everyone in that damn room :sob:

Oh right, everyone commenting on the whole "two lovebirds" thing doesn't make sense when everyone has literally had sex with the mc..
..neither does the supposed Arthur/Himiko/MC love triangle.. like it's built up to be them fighting over the mc constantly but everyone standing around as if they aren't part of it has had sex with the mc before..
god i wish i played the sfw version..

I've always wanted to play Happiness Double Room.. ever since I saw it somewhere on Xvideos way before I even thought about nsfw games.. but having NTR in the game is something that, mentally, is really hard for me to get over.

Huh, a Pure Soul.... Perhaps there's hope for Humanity after all.

Anyway; I've come back to this list to actually bookmark it as a list, I may never engage with these games, But I know that the world is a better place because this list exists.

I am not a pure soul, but I can still see why one would enjoy games in this way, when I got to the ending of Sinisistar I had a fleeting moment of 'You did a Good Job girl! You should get some Headpats because you did Great!' or something to that effect.

And it seems I do have some standards, Alice In Cradle and Degrees of Lewdity have both turned me away because they pulled something in this mechanical power core of mine, perhaps with DoL I had formed an attachment to my character as some sort of parent? (I think your perspective from that blurb is fairly accurate, though I didn't actually do any of the things you did, stayed mostly on the default settings).

I am not like you, But I encourage you to continue these efforts, to keep finding games like this. (and I have heard that everyone needs encouragement sometimes)

My love of wholesome stuff & my optimism is a huge part of who I am- and while this isn't.. usually the conventional usage of those things, a big reason of why I do what I do is precisely BECAUSE I want to inspire people.. especially the type that frequent adult websites. People here tend to.. not be known for being in the best mental state..

Anyways- I'm going to be adding Eiyuu Senki to my list once I'm done writing up a VERY long review for it, plus some other miscellaneous updates!

I’ve read walking side by side, plus a lot of Herio’s works! The issue I have with bitter sweet stuff is that my heart just can’t take it. I think I’ve actually read both of those bittersweet doujins you’ve mentioned, and I’m not mentally strong enough to handle reading more (though, I think the 2nd one had a pretty sweet ending from memory?).
