VN - Ren'Py - By Justice or Mercy [v16] [TowerBoyGames]

This game has a fun premise and good presentation, but is dragged down by a massive oversaturation of LI's and incredibly uneven pacing.

The amount of LI's that get thrown at you is absurd. I don't even remember the names of half of them and I am writing this review minutes after finishing the game. In 20 mins the MC has banged more girls than most AVN protags do in their entire lives. I know we are all playing for the porn, but the point of playing an AVN versus watching a porno is because the story and character/relationship development makes the scenes better. Of course, scenes can be skipped w/ almost everyone, but without that the game is probably over way too fast. I think investing more time in relationship development and longer scenes is better than a bunch of quick mediocre ones.

I don't necessarily have anything against a harem fuck-em-all, but the scenes happen so fast. For some of these girls its literally 3-4 sentences and then they fuck. It's not just the sex scenes tho. The big plot moments are speedran too, whenever the MC isn't balls deep in random girl #12.

I think this game had a lot of potential with much tighter writing and pacing. As of now, it feels very unfocused. I am giving it a 3 star because I enjoyed the diversity of content and production value.

I liked the start of this one, but it went to shit pretty fast and starts ignoring your choices which is one of the most annoying things, MC meets hes old friend and your giving the choice to forgive her or not, i picked not since i wanted to know more and nothing about it was explained, next you bring her along to your new appartment and MC now has feelings for her? trows her onto the bed like hes going to rape her? then lets her go and starts thinking about having feelings for this girl......it feels idiotic the hole thing....

Emma the girl you wanted to rape will then be forced on you a short time later? kinda weird since game let you belive its choice driven but clearly that went out the window.....when your forced to fuck her you cant cum outside meaning shes proberly going to be pregnant which is the last thing i wanted since i wanted nothing to do with her.....so yeah game is way to kinetic in many ways and i simply just hate forced shit and yes theres more then just one forced so if you had any thoughts of playing a faithfull route forget it.

Renders are low quality and miss sharpness.

Girls are ok, the low quality ruins it a liittle but there are some diverisity in builds but stuff like big tit fetish is forced since you cant turn girls down as you want, so it just becomes a turn-off when you arent into that or the girls who are forced.
Most girls looks quite ugly and their tits are just freaking weird looking, its like saggy shit on young girls which just dosent fit them, then theres the completly idiotic extreem sizes where the woman wouldent be able to walk or stay up-right....

Most scenes arent animated and those that are, are pretty low quality as well.

Theres no music making it more boring.

Choices works for some, but girls are still forced and so is sex scenes that you might not want, that stuff can ruin any immersion and makes story boring when you dont controle relationships.

You can get an ending pretty fast by giving up on "justice" which feels like the best option since you wont have to deal with all the shitty fake choices and forced stuff.

I really loved the game. The game plot is interesting. The characters have their own unique personalities. The sex scenes are really well made. Overall a really enjoyable experience.

Reall enjoyed this, many of the characters are well-designed and the scenes are hot and frequent. I enjoy that many of the "red" choices aren't cartoonishly evil (though some are getting there), while the blue choices don't make you into a total pushover. Looking forward to future updates.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game! The storyline had me hooked from start to finish, especially because the characters were so compelling. All the girls stood out in their own way—they were not only beautifully designed but also full of personality.

The visuals in the game are impressive. The character designs are detailed and the skin textures are realistic. Although the animations are limited, it doesn't make the overall experience any worse.

Great fucking game, the fact that you can select the fetishes that you would like its a plus, and of course the story i must say that it is engaging, and the art its pretty good, i would love better animations but its ok, the females characters models are good, this game has so much potential

so far i really like the game even though its still in its early stages but it has a lot of the elements for a great game plus the fetishes election is really good and diverse the models look good the story is interesting and the game as a whole is really enjoyable and it has a lot of choices to make hopefully those choices will have impact on the game and give it more replicability value .

Idk why people are giving this 5 stars. The MC has huge mood swings like he has bipolar disorder due to bad writing, some of the girls are kind of attractive but the majority of them are ugly and low res and have bizarre looking bodies especially the tits.

The story doesn't make sense and is often all over the place with certain characters hating the MC due to him being accused of murder 3 years before the start of the main story but yet some characters instantly jump on him like nothing happened, the majority of this game just feels unrealistic and most of the time just confusing.

Enjoyed it so far good visuals, variety of girls, different paths love, domination, light submission etc. also good writing. I enjoyed the pace of the game there is plenty of scenes so far but I didn't felt like scenes are rushed so that's plus in my book. There is a relationship ui to track what paths are available for different girls and you can check the score there.

Very good game so far, great renders, characters for everyone's taste, somewhat interesting story, but not perfect…

I've test-played the version [v0.2] and here are my thoughts so far:

Great render quality: (no grainy textures, high resolution textures, decent lighting, no extreme clipping of clothes or body parts).

Diverse set of characters: (no matter if u like petite woman, girls with some muscles, or some woman with big badonkers, this game got it).

Nice scenery/backgrounds: (got some depth, high resolution, feel dynamic, doesn't feel “soulless”)

Good sexual scenes: (no sounds, and not a lot of animations, but still looks hot)

MC: (although he doesn't look completely terrible, his eyes are creepy, they don't really fit, can't say too much about his “core” personality for now)

Story: (Story feels a bit chewed trough, but to be fair, It's hard to come up with something completely undone in the “revenge” genre. Now it's important how the story will be executed, from my playtest it feels like the MC is too obsessed with the revenge part, let's see how that plays out for him…)

I will get back into the game either when a substantial amount of content/updates dropped or it was finished.

This is Harem game with some potential. It has decent renders and plenty of optional fetishes. Unfortunately, the MC is very unlikable. As of now he seems a like a brat trying to be “alpha” expecting everything to bend to his will (with how often he gets his ass handed to him I'm surprised he acts like this). Worse still he talks about justice, but realistically what he wants is revenge, and as of now, it’s very unclear what the mercy path will look like. I also think that for the amount of content this looks more like a 0.1 game.

It's a power fantasy harem cliche.
Poor lil' wrongdo-ed you "grew up" into a big scary you and now it's time for them to pay their dues. Might not be that bad if MC wasn't highly unlikable. Ghoul consumed by bitterness steaming all around. He almost made me cheer for the "opponents". With this attitude, he's going to die by heart attack before the game ends. Serve revenge with a smile, don't lose dignity in the process. I like good revenge stories, but this is not that - a good story.
From the "artistic" side, the game is much better. Renders and most of the models are nice looking. Except, again, MC.
When it comes to choices and mechanics - back to square one. It's dreadful. Forced sexual content involving MC, forced "love interests" and what not.
Would not recommend it to others, unless you like a mandatory fuckfest.

Since this is a Revenge Story, I will be looking forward to the next updates

Hopefully there will be a lot of Domination scenes and the MC will have a full Harem

The updates are also very fast, hope you can keep this up regularly

This gets 5 stars for the amount of choices you get, it's got the setup for long branching paths, I prefer the dominant path, but this game is very good! Can't wait to dominate my way to the top!

Some characters are better than others so far, and I hope we get to do more revenge-related plots soon, but obviously, we got to introduce all the characters first.

Updated Review:

This is just an average game, now that I've played it longer. The MC isn't a great MC and it drags the game down, plus idk, the girls all seem to think the MC is some sort of god and his haircut definitely begs to differ.

I was actually surprised at how good and well executed this was despite the early release. It's been a while since I've seen a game with this much potential.

- The revenge plot is a bit cliché but decent; it still has some room for improvement and can be very rewarding if it's well made.

- It's been a really long time since I've seen a competent MC with common sense. The Love/Corruption routes are also pretty good; love that the domination path is not a complete super evil route.

- Visuals and models are really good; there are a lot of different characters and body builds, which is also rare to see.

- The dialogue is also quite good with very minimal grammatical errors.

----The only downside and only big complaint I have is how short the sex scenes are. These could really use some work.

I'm personally giving it a 5/5 atm because it's still an early release, and most of the problems I have with it can be easily solved. I'm mostly worried about the amount of characters that are being introduced; this makes the amount of workload increase drastically, which makes updating the game super slow or end up making the content of a lot of characters non-existent. Anyways, best of luck to the Dev, despite how short this was, I found it quite enjoyable, so keep at it.

It would be 4/5 in general, but I am giving this 5/5, as it ticks many boxes and shows promise. For the first release it's quite good!

1. Visuals are very very good -- maybe not top quality renders and details, but there are different characters, builds, faces -- dev is not afraid to show people with imperfections/aged. So far none of the glazed rubber doll syndrome. Extremely good: 6/5.

2. Sex scenes are extremely short. They are basically just sketches with the more important frames and a very short ~2s animation. I agree with other reviewers that there should be a bit more dialogue/text relevant to the path. Nevertheless, you can approximately see what dev is supposedly aiming at, and hopefully he will be able to do a bit more about that in future: 3/5 .

3. Dialogues are good in some places (eg. Lin, MC family), and a bit stupid (think stupid teen drama) in others.

But partly it seems to be because everything is rushed in order to get to fap content. Now, I am one who doesn't like being blueballed, but together with #2 it feels ... well, a bit rushed again. 3,5/5

4. Plot is OK, and as others said it is very refreshing to see a more adult kind of MC who knows what he wants. 4/5 atm.

PS. It's "quiet" in a number of places, not "quite".

• MC is confident and has a common thinking process.
• The cherry on top is this game has a large Harem + Incest.
• Also, there are a lot of Options and Kinks.

It's the first release, but I've seen enough to get a feel for it. This is a solid harem game. Cliche and clearly a power fantasy wish fulfillment, but executed well.

I'll just list some characteristics of this game.

• Extensive user input relationships which is utilized well to make everything sound natural. This is rarer than you may think.
• Revenge story. Pretty farfetched, but within the realm of possibility, at least in a TV drama kind of way. Gives MC some justification so that you can...
• Do Love/Corruption routes without making the MC evil? It's still asshole stuff, I imagine, but dev tried to avoid complete unredeemable MC on the corruption route, I guess.
• Pretty good portrayals of the characters and their individual vibes. Childhood friend's mother seemed convincing as a small Japanese lady.
• Cliche family dynamics. Bitchy/conceited older sis, innocent younger sis, and twin sis that is angry that you left or something. And a mom that is sorry for doing you wrong.
• A bit underwhelming sex scenes. Not enough sex dialogues for my taste.
• A lot of side characters and two antagonist families, but the vibes I get is that MC will solve everything, one bang at a time. I don't see him getting challenged substantially, but that remains to be seen.
• All in all, a very typical harem wish fulfillment, but the writing is competent. A familiar set up that is executed well.

Good potential here though mildly concerned about the number of interests there are available and how that can make workload spiral out or end up diminishing the quality of each path. But nice optionality in terms of paths, good modelling, and while the story is a bit cliché, we'll see how it progresses.

Lot's of potential! Ways to go on the story, seems decent enough. Animation and renders weren't bad. Decent variety of characters and kinks. Only downside was the amount of time it will take with animating characters. Either way I'll be waiting.
