Hi There!

Cabin Corpse is a game I'm making in Unity. I created and developed everything down to the visual novel engine it runs on myself.
Although Unity is predominantly used as a 3d game engine, Cabin Corpse is 3dcg visual novel, with renders made in Daz Studio.
Those of you who play Renpy will feel right at home as I've designed the game to look and feel like a Renpy VN.

Overview

Our main character stumbles upon a strange cabin in the middle of the woods. He has no recollection as to who he is, or why the hallucinations and voices in his head guided him there. Once he gets acquainted with the house guests, he realizes all is not as it seems, and must uncover the secret behind a series of mysterious events. You must interact with the characters, gain their trust, form relationships, gather clues to uncover the truth, manipulate people, and decide their fates.

Day/Night Cycle and Character Activities

  • Full 24-hour day/night cycle.
  • Featuring plenty of events and activities to keep you invested in the gameplay.

Unique Character Activities at different times of day, and sometimes on specific days only
  • These change as the story progresses.

The Dialogue System

One thing I like to convey to the player with every line of dialogue is the character's emotions while speaking.
I created, and hand-pick face emotes to give the dialogue more weight.

Screen Transitions

I utilize different kinds of transitions depending on the context of the scene/dialogue.
Fading to white, fading to black, dissolve, screen shake, camera panning, and zooming, etc.
I designed all the transitions myself to closely match how I envisioned the scenes to be.

Music

There are over 50 unique songs in the game, that I made myself in FL Studio.
I highly recommend playing with the music turned on, to experience the game as it was intended.

Chapters Plan

I've already created a story plan for the entire game.

These are brief story points for all the crucial points of the main story.
Right now, I've completed writing all the dialogue for Chapter 2 and I'm mostly working on just renders per update.
Chapter 2's epilogue is the biggest thing I've ever written, and I can't wait to one day release it.

Chapter 3 will introduce a huge change to the game, I hope I can one day do this full-time so I can fully realize the whole game without cutting corners.

Charlie NSFW pin up 2 edit low res.jpg

I like to make wallpapers for the girls while working on their story updates.
Hi-res quality and render requests are available on my Patreon.

This is one of the most recent for Charlie. Her Story for Chapter 2 just concluded and soon I'll be making more wallpapers of Anna, as she will be leading the next update.

Stay tuned!

Credit When It's Due (Supporter List Auto Updater)

Now that my Patreon is getting a decent following, it's become increasingly difficult to manually update the "Hall Of Fame" Screen.
- The Hall Of Fame Screen is where I give credit to all my Patrons.

I like to credit all my Patrons even the lowest tier,
So I made a doohickey using Patreon's API to allow me to automatically update that list the moment someone becomes a Patreon.
It won't matter what version of the game you're playing, it will always show the list of all my current Patreon supporters.
So if you became a Patreon and immediately opened up the game, you would see your name already credited.

This took a long time to make, and there were times I doubted if I could pull it off, but I'm glad I did.

Currently working on the last part of Anna's quest for Chapter 2
also thinking of adding some bonus content, like some extra interactions not necessarily vital to the main story. We'll see

My original vision for Cabin Corpse involves a lot of a certain taboo that starts with an "R".
Chapter 3 was meant to be filled with it.

But for obvious reasons, I had to cut it from the current planned versions...

Apparently, Subscribestar has no problems with this,
so if you would like to see the game with a lot of the "R"-word in it, like it was originally intended, you can become a member of my Subscribestar.

If it gets up to $500 in support I will start working on adding the cut taboo content to the game, and upload that to Subscribestar.

It would be nice if I could reach that goal before I start creating renders for Chapter 3,
because once I've made Chapter 3 with the cut content, it's gonna be much harder to go back and make changes.

After so many months of non-stop hard work, Cabin Corpse is now available for wishlisting on Steam! I'm hoping for a late May or early June release. So happy right now!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who's supported the game until now, both on Patreon and itch.io. This would not have been possible without you!

Moving To Subscribestar

So, as the title says, I've been thinking about moving to Subscribestar for a while now, and this being the start of a new month I thought it would be a good opportunity to bring it up since I've yet to release a new version for the month.

Why?

There are 2 main reasons.

The first being, Patreon has been kinda screwing me over with the "Per Creation" billing system. I don't wanna go into much detail but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The second, Subscribestar is a more creator-friendly platform, and there's a lot of things I can include in my game that Patreon wouldn't allow. Nothing grotesque or morbid though, not to worry, but rather some fetishes, kinks, and spicier contexts to adult scenes, like blackmailing a character for example.

What Am I Doing Next?

I left it to my Patrons to decide

But if anyone is interested in seeing a version of the game with the "R" word, blackmailing-themed sex scenes, and other taboo content, then hop on to my . If I get enough support there, I'll stop promoting the Patreon page and focus all future updates on Substar.

Thanks.

I haven't tried this yet, mainly due to it being in Unity, and then because it seemed like it was moving away from being non-con oriented. I saw that you set your threshold for readding non-con and other extreme content to $500 on subscribestar, but since your SS support has eclipsed Patreon by far, are you on track to add non-con and maybe other content by the story point you've set? Not sure how the update numbers correspond to the chapter system you've set up metalblinga .

But considering the fact that you have more than double the support on SS than Patreon, I'd think that would be an indication that people would prefer the game adhered to what the original impression was based on your initial planned tags.

The amount of people supporting on SS compared to Patreon is mainly due to the fact that I've completely stopped advertising my Patreon links and restricted the number of people that can join my Patreon.
So it's not necessarily because they want the non-con stuff, but rather because I didn't give them much of a choice.

That being said, I will be adding the taboo stuff because I want to, and SS allows me to do it.
However, the version with the non-con stuff will only be available on my SS.

New Trailer

Thanks for posting the trailer. It's pretty solid. I finally decided to give this a try after your last response. Unfortutely, between the red textbox with no transparency option, no outline/drop-shadow on the text, and no option for instant text speed, this gave me a bit of a headache. Not having the option for instant text is a no-no for text-heavy games, and if you have to have a textbox for whatever reason, red is a terrible choice for the color. If there has to be a text box, there should at least be a gradient transition, especially since it's taking up so much real estate on the bottom 25-30% or so of the screen.

On top of that, you can't save during speech sequences, meaning you have to waste tons of time rehashing content to get through different options. It doesn't make the gameplay more consequential or weighty, it's just an annoyance if you're trying to gauge the different pathways.

Unfortunately I'm just gonna have to put this on the shelf purely due to UX/UI design decisions, regardless of whatever other merits it has. If you decide to make systems changes in the future, I'd look forward to giving it another look. Good luck, hopefully I get to give this another look with some QoL changes in another iteration.

Hi, I'm MetalB!

--About My Game--
Cabin Corpse is a story-driven adult horror visual novel. Filled with suspenseful storytelling, compelling characters, and a dash of mature themes.

This is technically my first game, and it is very large in scale compared to most visual novels.

It's taken years of hard work to get to this point, not just story-wise, but coding, music, game design, etc. I do everything myself.

I quit my full-time job a year ago to speed up the game's development in preparation for a Steam release.

Unfortunately, time started running out for me and I had no choice but to release the early access a bit sooner than expected.

Because of this, I've not had enough time to gather enough wishlists for what I would consider a successful launch on Steam.

--Wishlist On Steam--
Steam is my one true shot of seeing the game to completion,

So if the concept of my game seems remotely interesting to you, all I ask is that you please add it to your wishlists before the launch on November 15th.

And if you would like to try out the game before wishlisting, I have a demo on my Steam page you can download

Thank you for your time!
