So, having just spent about 20 or 30 minutes experimenting with the slot machine in the Queen of Hearts, I have to ask if it is statistically meant to be gainful. Because I was expecting it to be like a slot machine in a casino, where the odds are always in favor of the house long term. Sure you might get lucky and win a jackpot, but long term it pays to the house. I have so far earned over 1000 gold, in chapter 1, just by sitting in front of the slots being patient.
Every single time I gained more than I had spent, I would zero out my mental chart, and use the new high point as the zero point from which I calculated losses. The lowest I ever got was -65 before it gradually trended back upwards and went above zero to provide me with gain. And that entire sequence didn't include the 100 gold jackpot, that was just with the lose 5, break even, gain 5, gain 10 and gain 20 results. I won the jackpot a number of times, but even without it I seemed to trend slowly upwards.
I just ask because I find statistics interesting and am curious what the actual odds behind the system are, and whether I just had a run of very good luck, and it's mostly meant to be break even, or loss for the player, or whether the odds the slot machine has are actually meant to provide the player with money if they are patient enough to keep using it.
