Hi, i'm following the "cow" path and can't quit the quest too. I've found the hiding spot with mana chrystals and medicine. The merchant continues to claim that he knows nothing about the manacral crystals.
The captain ends that, so i can through the gate to the cart. The owner in Tarkas still begs me to free his cargo.
What's missing, or did i something wrong?
For this quest, there are 3 potential starting points:
You are involved with Kira and the League of Merchants (in which case, she appears when you first enter the outpost, and is fighting with the captain). If you are into a relationship with Kira (or you have the "titty lover" trait), you might be forced to join her side, otherwise you can refuse her. If you join her side, you won't see the other potential path which is:
You are involved with the vampires. If you followed Beatrix's path long enough (and you didn't go along with Kira's plan), after you meet the captain at night, you should meet a vampire when you exit the barracks. If you meet her, there are no choices, and you go on the vampire path.
If neither of the above are true, you'll do this independently.
Now for Kira's path to work, you must:
1) Free the cargo
2) Frame the driver
To free the cargo and frame the driver you must get the "confession" from the driver about him transporting medicine, find the hidden compartment, talk to the captain about it to accuse the driver, and then ask him to free the cargo to the captain (and select the right choice to convince him). You should know if you did this right, because you can't ask him to free the cargo anymore. If you did, you should now be able to go back to the distillery, and Kira should be waiting for you inside to push for her deal with the merchant.
The independent path should be pretty similar, you just won't find Kira waiting for you at the distillery, so you have to talk with the owner yourself.
The vampire path is different, because you must cover for the driver and take the "medicine" from the cart, but it shouldn't be significantly harder to handle if you can do the "normal" path. The quest was supposed to be more involved, actually, but I cut short some elements because I was running out of time, so it's not too complicated.
Note that you can also enter the cart without figuring out the "trick" with the message board (you can jump from the back, after you talk with the captain and learn that there might be something to check in the cart).
Where's the house you're supposed to go to for the Family Matters quest? I hope it's not in the actual area of the slave market, because the Spider's Den gambling/slavery stuff seems to be bugged, and every time you return to the slave market location after finishing the slavery content, you get re-enslaved again, so you can't actually access the slave market area.
Sadly, that's exactly where it is. First time this bug was reported to me, so thanks for letting me know. I'll fix it for version 0.94
In the meantime, if you really can't wait or can't go back to a previous save, I could edit your savefile. Just upload it here.
Darn it, I wish someone would improves the walkthrough. Right now with how messy the path is, I have no idea how many ending is currently available. How many ending is currently complete as for now apart from Zanti farm.
Zanti remains the one path that is complete, related to a faction. Sonya's content is also pretty much complete (although I'll add a scene or two, most likely). Edith's content is also complete, and then there is Lea's content that is almost complete, the first slave owner is basically complete (just need to add some interactions for the things you can get during the slave contest).
For the other factions, Kira/LoM are almost complete, but I need a few tweaks and possibly 2 quests to give the whole thing the proper progression (plus it will likely need some content post-completion). The guilds are a bit behind. The noble content is almost finished for the town's improvements and events, but I need to add some court intrigue and the queen path.
