Have been playing this one for a while now and have gotten most endings and scenes and all I can say is.... yaaaaaaaaawn.
The renders are great, as they always are in LOP games and the HUD isn't too obstructive in this game, which is good. The characters are hot and the artist did a great work bringing them to life during the sex scenes. Set against some solid backgrounds, the renders are the true stars of this title. Stoper is a great artist and he did a good job on this one.
The story is the same tried and tested borefest of cardboard cut-out "characters". A sexually liberated, bisexual girl completely interchangeable with virtually every other girl in any other LOP game becomes a call-girl a la Jordan 500 and Tori 500 and lives the life of a prostitute with her equally sexually liberated, bisexual friend while working for their equally sexually liberated bisexual boss. Same shit different display. If you're a fan of LOP and liked the two aforementioned games, then I guess this will appeal to you. But for someone who would like to see something new or innovative, this ain't for you.
The writing is, at best, okay.... cringey dialogue, outdated pop-culture references and clichéd stereotypes flaunting "troubled pasts" while attempting to pass that off as "personality". It's flat, shallow and boring. The narration can't seem to make up its mind about what its going for as any given situation will be described as serious, slapstick and woefully pretentious all at once and ends up being none of it, but instead a dissonant mess that is neither funny, riveting or interesting. Did I mention the dialogue is cringey? It is... it really is.
The gameplay is... also okay. This is not just a visual novel trying to pass itself of as a game. This is an actual game with gameplay elements beyond the simple VN choices of "cheat on my partner/don't cheat on my partner" and the like. There was seemingly an honest to God intent of bringing the player a worthwhile gaming experience and that is appreciated. Stat building and time management adds a strategic element to the game that can be engaging and it can be fun to figure out how to maximize results by combining your most efficient activities and choices. The only problem: the grind is insane and very limiting.
First of all, there's way to many stats to keep track of for it to be fun. Keeping it simple would have been far better and given a more streamlined experience. The stats progress at a snails pace and the requirements for some events are completely out of tune with the frequency with which you can increase your stats. Furthermore, there's no way of telling, beyond trial and error, which actions boosts which stats and in a game with this tight a timeframe and such high demands for high stats to get to the juicy parts, that's a bore. While not directly adversarial, the gameplay is obstructive and isn't doing it's best to service and already limping story.
Sound design isn't all that great either with music that is... not terrible, but doesn't seem to fit the tone the story wants to set. Also the sex sounds were kind of bad.
LOP's new habit of adding scene and endings galleries to their games is a great addition and makes it easy to replay a scene for a quick wank rather than having to play through the whole game to get that one specific scene you really liked. The addition of cheats is also a welcomed one, but the only problem is that you have to suffer through the game at least 5 times (presuming that you hit a different ending on each of those 5 playthroughs) to get to all the cheats... which, once again, is an absolute bore... just make the cheats available from the start and let wankers wank.
All in all, not LOP's worst game, but definitely also not one of their best and a far cry from the glory days of LWT1.
