Ren'Py - Camp Mourning Wood [v0.0.19.0] [Exiscoming]

tl;dr : game good, play game, support dev.

Still early so not too much content, but everything there is excellent.

Sandbox is done right, which is quite rare : critical path stuff is easy to find, yet there's room for hidden goodies ("pixel hunt") here and there.

Writing is pleasant to read, girls are each very unique, this is a game that will make you want to actually read (and enjoy) what's going on instead of fast-forwarding everything.
Surprisingly, the main story itself is engaging and not a mere prelude to see boobs.

Then there's the graphics. Oh, my, the art... As far as I'm concerned, it's absolutely top-notch. Shapes are clear and concise, girls are.. I mean, look at the screenshots : hot, exciting, gorgeous. Better still, they're not all identical and the fantasy setting + 2D hand-drawn allows for quite a few exotic stuff (doe hazel <3)

Had quite a bit of fun with this one. Early project but very engaging and already give you a few fun hours of gameplay. I mean it is already very entertaining. Loved the characters and art. Very promising project. I hope to see more fantasy creatures and I hope the dev won't forget to have anal options for all characters.

More than expected tbh.

It wasn't quite enough of any particular thing for my tastes.
What I mean is the characters weren't quite interesting enough, storylines weren't quite interesting enough, and the sex wasn't quite enough. It did have a good sprinkling of many things that kept me playing though.

I think it suffers from the choice of having it be sandbox. Really the story is quite linear with sandbox functionality that just eats time and patience.
However, if the full fledged game has enough rewarding content for each sandbox area then I could see it being a good model.

Currently there is a decent amount of content to see what the game is like and the idea intended. I hope I am correct in saying it is about 1/6 of the way to a complete game. Or less,. If it's closer to say, half the future content... eh. Would be unfortunate.

I really like the art style and it is pretty good.

They're somewhat unique but not much depth.

Story: 4/5
I like the story but it has very little explanation or reason for caring beyond disaster otherwise.

Grind: 3/5
It is somewhat grindy, but tbh I ignored the grind and it didn't get in the way much. I expect it will in the future though? Hopefully not. But I see the system for it and wouldn't be surprised.
imo, needs better rewards or repeatable sex etc for the grind.

Sex: 2/5
Not very much. Mostly nudity.
A hell of a lot less peeping than i was expecting for a camp setting.

Enjoyment: 3.5/5
It held my attention until I ran out of content. So ya. I'd say I enjoyed it. It wasn't super rewarding otherwise though.
I don't remember or care about the characters. The sex was forgettable, for what little there was. And I've mostly already forgotten the nudity I have seen. *shrug*

The best game I've played recently. Likeable main character, good dialogues, nice artwork and a very interesting story.
I will be waiting for the updates. Looking at the version number, seems like it will be a long road. But my hopes are high for this game.

My heart skipped a beat when I read "Camp". I thought it was gonna be another Camp Pinewood. Instead this game offered an actual good story intro with an interesting MC backstory and the art is excellent. Can't wait for updates.

My only issue as of 0.0.0.16:

It's fantastic, not a lot of content yet but it's already worth downloading and if development continues it will surely be a top tier game in the vein of Paradise Lust, Pie in the Sky, etc.

The art style is very nice, interesting characters, interesting story.

Absolutely fantastic art combined with genuinely funny dialog, cute and interesting girls, and a very interesting horror movie plot. The game is a bit early in development, I am hoping to see more of this

Short version:

Exelent humour and magnificent artwork. The charcters aren't bland like in most games.

The plot:

You are young boy whose father send to camp where you need to correct your self, it doesn't help that you are the olny boy in whole camp filled with naughty girls.

In my opinon if the author will guide it propely it could be a hit

So far I'm really liking the art and style. There's not alot of content at this time but what it does have is nice. I really feel the difference between the characters and their personalities.

This is your typical you can only do 1 or 2 things per day before you have to go to bed kind of game.

Review for v0.0.0.4

This is one of the best starts to a game I have ever seen. Not unexpected from Exiscoming, but still.

The art is great, the story so far is fairly interesting and well executed. The sound is solid. The characters are pretty diverse and all interesting in their own right.

Everything works well and runs smooth. There aren't any annoying mechanics so far.

Obviously this is a very early version, but there are some things to do already, so it's worth checking out right now in my opinion. There are 2 place holder images, but they didn't hurt my enjoyment at all.

There's really not much else to say. All this needs is more content. 5/5
