NTR is about enlightenment, reaching a higher plane of existence. Your girlfriend discovering her true nature, giving in to her animal instincts and desires, taking what she wants. Escaping the bonds of slavery that we call civilization.

Simple cheating doesn't break the chains. Cheating encourages feminism, not equality. Cheating belittles women, it depicts them as "needing a man" while NTR empowers them.

How bout you just google that shit instead of starting the 10,001 thread asking the same question. This question has already been answered here and on countless other forums an endless amount of times. Seriously people its 2019 get your shit together and learn to use the internet for something besides just watching porn and learn how to research porn, or dinosaurs research those too.

Also on a side note for those who dont know yet you can just ask google and most search engines a question and i guarantee you it will auto fill the rest of your question in regardless of content. Seriously try it sometime. Ask it anything and you'll find an answer no matter how stupid or depraved.

Cheating:
Having sex with someone girlfriend/wife.

Ntr is either having your love interest used in front of you to envoke feelings of jelousy, rage, etc.
Or you doing that to someone else.

Note the love interest must be unboard with it or else it is rape.
So having sex in front of a woman husband to cause him suffering is ntr.
To have sex in front of him with his approval is wife sharing.
And to rape her in front of him is rape.

The difference(atleast to my knowledge) between cheating and ntr is that cheating is done in secret.
You dont want the guy to find out.
Where ntr you want to shove it in his face and make him to sufffer.

Ntr stands for two japanese words i dont remember but one of the words means you inflicing the suffering and the other you are being the one made suffer.

Related:
To the other posters:
Seriously guys.
You took the time to type but coudnt be bother to just explain something.
Seriously what kind of misserable people are you?

ntr can also be done in secret. I've seen a lot of ntr mangas ending without the guy finding out he's getting ntr'ed.

Doesnt that just make it cheating?

This thread has F95zone's definition that is used to determine if a game uses the 'ntr' tag.

Ah thanks.

Cut and past:

NTR - General Definition

- Since this comes up so much in discussions. Regardless of someone thinks NTR, this is our definition.
Japanese acronym for , used to define a genre of Eroge (Hentai Game), meaning " ". In short, the main protagonist's loved one(s) are taken or seduced away from him and the heroine might be willing or unwilling. This is to cause an emotion of deep jealousy on the reader.

I am no expert in this as well but a guy raping a girl that's already in a relationship with the intent of keeping her for himself falls under ntr category for me in my opinion.
Yeah, most NTR media starts with some version of forced sex (husbands boss blackmails wife, wife has debts with the Yakuza, straight up rape, etc.). That's the whole point, the wife/girlfriend must be unwillingly fucking the bad guy at the beginning, since she's supposed to be "pure" and completely in love with her significant other. She then slowly (or not so slowly if the author only has a single chapter to work with) falls for the D, thus transferring her love from her original partner to the antagonist, either emotionally getting taken away from her husband/boyfriend (she still keeps the facade of the good wife up, but fucks her true lover at every possible moment, while the hubby is at work, providing for his wife and the bastard kids he thinks are his) or literally getting taken away, leaving her husband/boyfriend in the end.

Basically, the whole genre started as kind of a joke to make a mockery of romance anime/manga and traditional non-h dating sims with their highly idealized depictions of love and relationships (stuff like Oh My Goddess), by going "lets take our pure-as-snow romance manga heroine and cuck our completely bland run-of-the mill romance manga male protag by having her fall through force to the fattest, disgusting geezer with the most rotten personality we can think of." The thinking man's fetish.

I think of NTR being the specific cheating where there's some kind of shaming involved. Such as the person being cheated on is aware/mocked/somehow accepts the loss in a way.

Where as the general "cheating" category encompasses NTR, but also includes other subsets. Such as when you're the guy the girl is cheating with, or if the cheating is MC (who is a dude) cheating on whomever he is in a current relationship with. As well as I think a game/story where the girl cheats on her partner and feels bad about it/never likes it feels more like the 'cheating' tag rather than NTR.

I think there are many terms within cheating that have these traits and I can't be fucked to look them up at the moment.

If you look at it in the girls perspective then yes its just cheating but if u put yourself on the 3rd party's perspective (the guy who cucks), it's ntr based in my understanding. if u put those 2 in consideration & look at the bigger picture (your point of view) for me it appears to be more of a ntr cause in my opinion ntr weighs more than cheating (it's more messed up).

Couldn't agree more. cheating & ntr can be both complicated.

Also, i have a kink for impregnation so i'll check your game later :)

Ah shit, here we go again.

There are so many variations of NTR, but the most important and unifying aspect is the female character's changing thought process due to the villain's sexual advances. This can be a loyal wife/gf turning into a cheating whore, a loving mother abandoning the son, cute sister who looked up to the bro turning into some gyaru who thinks he's a loser, childhood friend who no longer cares about the guy. This fall from grace is present in almost every NTR story.

Just so you (all) know, this is (now) the first result you find on google, when you type in this exact question. That’s how I got here.

寝取られ [ne.to.ra.re] noun derived from the verb 寝取る [ne.to.ru] which is a compound verb of 寝る [ne.ru] "to sleep" and 取る [to.ru] "to take".
So "sleep-taking".
From the etymology it seems to mean "taking while the husband is asleep/unaware".
The use of "NTR" in English has taken wings as a loanword and will have drastically different connotations than the original.
