Cannot respond to conversation

I have messages from others in conversations but I cannot respond to them. I also cannot initiate conversations. I have comments on forums but this would be my first created thread. Is something holding me back?

editing to say nvm i guess? I added a few more comments and was allowed to. The FAQ says you need 5 but I needed more than that to have a conversation. Has that number has changed?

Could be the DDoS Guard causing an issue. It could be something different and you need to clear cache. It could be something else entirely. If you offered exactly what you are experiencing when you try to initiate/reply to conversations, we'd know more to give you more info.

Such as, maybe a pop-up that says "This action cannot be taken at this time" or some such when you try to press submit. Or the "Post Reply" button is grayed out or when you click "new conversation" the site just sits there trying to load but never does.

You posting other comments probably allowed the DDoS Guard to know you're human or reset a setting in cache or something similar.

What are you experiencing when you are attempting to start a conversation? What are you doing (what are you clicking, where, etc) and what is the site doing in response?


I'm leaning heavily toward it being a DDoS Guard thing....

The button to start a conversation simply no longer exists and when I attempt to manually put in the user's name it tells me I'm not allowed to send that user a message.

I do use a VPN on the site as a precaution, perhaps that's causing it?

Edit: As an example, here is your profile. There is no option to start a conversation.

The ol' "did you turn it off and on again" does work sometimes (logging off the site, clearing cache, exiting browser, starting browser logging back into site) to clear out any cobwebs.

Well, we know it has nothing to do with the number of comments after you have 5 counted.

And you disabled all plugins/extensions/addons for your browser?

Did you try a different browser? The other person was using Microsoft Edge and was having problems.

If you're use anything but Chrome, try Chrome.
If you're using anything but Firefox, try Firefox.

If nothing changes - open a support ticket.

Alright, I'll give it a go. I don't have any extensions as I'm on mobile and wouldn't know how to add them on mobile even if I could. Thanks for the help!

I didn't even connect the dots you were on mobile after seeing your screenshot. Try changing your browser to "Desktop site" and see if anything changes.

Security by Obscurity has never proven to really work longterm, so proper communication is a MUST if you want to keep any semblance of trustworthy / hailed technical adminship.

I was fucking livid until Morphnet posted this thread to me. Rule used to be 3, don't know when it was switched to 5, because I've been able to PM for months until their latest change.

I know I shouldn't expect much competent actions from a piracy website, but that change definitely needs a fucking mention at the top of the "Site Rules News and Announcements," board.

I think it's been 5 since I joined, which isnt long to be fair, but seems to be more than that now (though no official changing in Rules)
