Thank you very much for the update here and in the general rules. We have made changes and it’s increased to 20 posts needed for a DM. You can thank spammers, users abusing our PM system to share banned content, etc.
There a few more restrictions but will have to go back through changelog later.
edit: correction

Admins made the change and staff was notified monday (sept 22). The others may have been busy and I just happened to have time to update the rules.Road to 20 comments so I can privately message again. But yes, it's rediculous to change a rule without updating it for people to see. Oh well.
you really think people would do that? just go on the internet and spam unsafe content? We have made changes and it’s increased to 20 posts needed for a DM. You can thank spammers, users abusing our PM system to share banned content, etc.

Yes, it would mostly be users with active accounts on this site who are fans of games that skirt the boundaries of Rule 7, they create a throwaway account to share games with fellow fans which fall on the wrong side of Rule 7, because they are not using their active account they keep that account safe from banning, making them need 20 posts on each throwaway account would definitely help discourage them.you really think people would do that? just go on the internet and spam unsafe content?

Don't know either, but PM me if you want a link to the latest update.Haha, okay, I totally get why they'd slap a post count limit on starting conversations, gotta keep those spammy gremlins at bay! But, just curious, what’s the deal with the limits on replying to and viewing conversations?
