Hello, in new here and i'm trying to make a game (new into that too) but i'm having some problems with daz and someasset that I downloaded from here. Some of them ( ) tell me that i'm missing files and they dont appear or they do but not properly, and I can't even find some others. I think that i'm not "installing" (akka copy paste) those correctly (I just place the files in the mydazlibrary like I did with some that do work). Thanks in advance!

I didn't download those from here, but are they in a zip file named something like "IM0032095medbay.zip"

Those usually need installed by the DAZ install manager that comes with daz studio. Just find your daz3d folder, find the install manager folder and put the zip itself into the downloads folder within that folder. no need to unzip them. Then run the daz install manager program, and in the second tab they should show up, just hit install from there and you are good to go.

It's not unheard of for the IMxxx.zip files from Daz to contain defects. Particularly if you got them from, well, "somewhere other than Daz." What sometimes happens is that the first release of a product has defects, it gets reported, Daz fixes it and provides the updates to people that bought it, but the defective versions are still circulating around the Internet.

I found the DIM folder but it doesn't have a downloads folder in it?

Also... a lot of the assets come in .RAR not in zip files. Tried it with .rars and nothing popped up to be installed.

Open up Daz Install Manager and click on the "gear" button in the upper right. Select the "Downloads" tab. The "Download To" item right at the top will give the directory that
(a) Daz Install Manager would download content into, if you download content from the Daz Store
(b) Daz Install Manager will install from.

Thus, if you put properly-formatted DIM zip files in that directory, and _then_ launch DIM, it should see them.

DIM won't install RAR's - they have to be the IM000XXXXX-XX_XXXXXX.zip files that come from the Daz store.
Also, if you have something already installed, DIM will drop it from the list of things to be installed.

You can also choose to have DIM remove the ZIP files after it's done the installation - I usually do that, since I keep copies of all my ZIP files elsewhere.

RAR files have to be manually decompressed. If they have DIM files inside them, you can install those as above. If they have raw content folders, then you have to install that content manually by copying it into the DAZ folder structure.

... or you can also use a tool like to create your own custom DIM supported ZIP file containing the raw content folders & files, and them use DIM to import that custom ZIP file.

Thanks! I got a few loaded. Turns out, some of the assets come in folders that need to be unzipped before I can get to the actual zipped asset. After unzipping a few and finding the IM00.... zips I managed to get a few installed.

Yes, certainly possible. Personally, I don't go through that - I have separate Daz content hierarchies for stuff installed by DIM and stuff installed manually just so I don't mix the two.

The one (sometimes significant) advantage of installing through DIM, however, is that it allows you to easily remove an asset if it turns out to be a problem, since DIM will do it for you.

You can setup more that one library location and control which location DIM installs into, thus allowing you to have your different hierarchies for different content sources. (eg. bought vs 'borrowed', or normal vs erotic, etc..)
