VN Can't open game KAGParser.tpm

I am trying to open

You must be registered to see the links

in a windows 10 vm. However, when trying to run the .exe I get this error saying it cannot load plugin KAGParser.tpm:


The most google gave me was that the plugin that refuses to load is related to the trusted platform module, which my vm has:


Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks

Edit: I just solved it.
For anyone encountering this issue: Copy the game folder over to the vm and then try running the exe. The error will crop up if you are trying to open the game on a passed-thru filesystem like I was doing.
