Can't open games

Uhh, so this may sound a little stupid.

When i download some games i get them in like a zip/apk file and i can't open them on my windows laptop. Does anyone know a programm/way that can open it/to open it?

to open compressed stuff. But apk files are for android, mobiles and tablets etc (or emulators).

@Henk Schuurman i use WinRar version 5.60 and i have never problems to unzip games

apk is android package- or so i assume. it's basically a exe for your android, not zipped. You can install it by allowing unknown sources somewhere in security settings.
