There're 2 parts: arcade and VN story. After finishing each part of arcade level the story is progressing.

He's playing a shmup in an arcade when we first meet him in the prologue chapter but after that it's all actual flying and there's story but none of it is related to the arcade game he was playing.

As far as I can tell from the Steam reviews (I don't see any guides but the game's only a day old), it doesn't seem like there's any payoff for getting all stars / 100% / anything like that. Does anyone know otherwise?

having playing about half, and getting 2/3 stars each time, no it doesn't seem like anything is different
