Casting Master Header

Hi, I am an IT specialist who has turned into an indie game developer.
With a wealth of experience behind from designer to programmer,
I have finally achieved my life's dream - writing my own game. Let me present to you...

roguelike 18+ arcade simulator "Casting Master"

Gameplay Overview:

As a Girl's Casting Director, you have one of the most exciting jobs in the world! Isn't it? Your task is to receive assignments from your superiors and select girls through castings based on their requirements. But don't underestimate the challenge ahead. Girls come in all shapes and sizes, with diverse fashion tastes and unique personalities. As you progress in your career, you'll encounter more revealing auditions and uncover some girl's secrets such as special skills and photo leaks in a higher positions. The game offers a truly distinctive experience. It combines elements from the adult genre with roguelike mechanics, requiring you to think logically, staying sharp with your counting skills, and react swiftly.

Main Features:

  • over HUNDRED unique magnetic characters at the very first alpha demo version
  • spendable in-game currency, which you earn by achieving success in runs
  • roguelike mechanics, making every run unique
  • thoughtful game balance
  • tons of lewd content crafted manually while assisted by AI
  • multi language UI: English, Russian, Ukrainian, Korean, Chinese, Korean, Japanese
  • nice overall graphics, custom soundtracks

Development Thread Goal:

There are many:
  • explore player expectations
  • receiving a preliminary feedback
  • get some suggestions and/or requests
  • build game community
  • keep devlogs and reports

Schedule:

I plan to release a playable alpha demo next month: 11/2023. Currently, the core game loop is almost finished. The last things I am working hard on are the level transition and the end run screen. The alpha demo will NOT include character abilities and the photo-leaks feature. At the end of the year, patrons at the highest tier will get a fully playable alpha release. Early access on Steam: first quarter of the next year.

Support Game Development:

I would really appreciate if you'd like to support the development of the game

Looks very professional. AI art generally looks quite good, but many people don't put the efforts in to fix its problems. That doesn't seem to be your case and you seem to know what you're doing. Good luck.

First of all, thanks for the kind words and support on Patreon ❤ I really appreciate it.

That's right, I'm using AI a lot, including SFX, music, and even coding assistance. Currently, AI in all it's forms is far from perfection. As for my game development cycle, I use any AI output as a billet of idea, that requires pretty high attention to details that needs to be modified by hand.

Does AI help speed up the development process? Definitely, yes, incredibly!
Could we use it as is? Definitely, not!

It's also very challenging to maintain consistency between game assets, which is certainly not a problem when you're produced everything manually. But saving a huge amount of time, I think, wins here.

this is a pretty awesome idea. I've been wanting to mesh generative AI with a roguelike but haven't had a lot of time to think through how to make it generate consistently looking assets. even a sprite sheet is a challenge to create. I've been thinking about creating it with multiple layers of generations (think body + armor + weapon) and then put them together later, but that creates its own sets of issues. anything you could share on your process would be amazing to know! thank you very much

How do you get so perfect hands??
The hands. Oh yes! As I wrote before, AI is not yet ready to produce ready-to-use assets. So in 99% of cases the hands are reworked by my own, which is not really a problem if you are familiar enough with a modern graphics software.

It seems you need to subscribe to the StableDiffusion subreddit , there is a lot of useful stuff.
There are also tons of tutorials on YouTube about image (and not the only) generation using different neural networks.

In fact, nothing is impossible. Yes, there is still a lot of manual work, but the AI will speed up your progress by hundreds of percent in the end. That was happens to me, that will definitely happens to you! ❤

Thanks
