Is it better to have the baron's wife in the village or at the manor the MC inherits. Been awhile since I played, and I can't remember if one option is better than the other.

It's better if she in the Manor with Lala. The new house in the village is always reserved for Gretel in my playthrough.

It would be nice if the dev didn't make all those "random" maps when doing the Golden Bra quest. I've played a week of in-game days and haven't come across the map with the lava. I keep getting all the other ones. At this point I just want to use saveeditor and change the value for the Golden Bra in my inventory.

And you argue about that now because? You already seem to have a solution for yourself so it's probably only a need to rant instead of just fixing the problem instantly.
You are welcome to play an RPG from big cheese devs with random loot drops to know what real BS smells like. <3
Will there ever be a revamp to the affection system? I must say, in it's current state, things are a bit tedious and grindy and not exactly clear when certain events will be changed due to an affection difference.

Have you checked your basement (starter house) to trigger the renovation quest? Once you spoke to Lui there should be a sign where the bathhouse can be build.
Can't get to mountana, I looked at the walkthrough and I can't talk to the commander and at night there's no twinkling interactable. Pretty stumped, tried other times too but there's nothing that interacts beyond the water bucket.
