Hey everyone, I have a lot of trouble finding games that fit a niche of hard and challenging puzzle/strategy games that aren't combat/stat focused but rather on a unique mechanic to unlock content. A lot of games are either RPG's, Visual Novels or text based adventures but what I'm really looking for is novel content that actually feels fleshed out. On top of that a lot of games that do fit this niche are short and unpolished or lack compelling long-term gameplay (see Bitch Medicenter for example). And if I could play 2084 for days I absolutely would.
Bonus points if there is corruption/cursed equipment/curse mechanics that subtly influence the players ability to act in-game. I am willing to look outside f95zone for these as well!
I do also enjoy RPG/Adventure games but oftentimes the controls feel clunky and they tend to be menu/dialog-heavy in a way that detracts from the gameplay experience because it lessens the immersion. Though if you think you know a very polished one do let me know! (Wings of Roldea, Lust Doll Plus, Liliths Throne and Dungeons and Prisoners are all very close to being something I like a lot)
ALTERNATIVELY, content such as randomness, gambling and otherwise putting the protagonist/the player in an unfortunate situation by chance / potential navigating out of bad bad situations (or even soft bad endings) is also appreciated. But I haven't been able to find any good card-based/dice-based/etc. games on here so far.
