I got bored and was seeing the state of AI models (locally ran ones) because some assholes constantly wanna flood AI Girlfriend chat sites. I still don't understand how it's entertaining or useful. But it did make me curious how bad AI is. It's actually interesting how useful it is when using it as an assistant at getting info tho but persona stuff? I also seen sillytavern so I kinda wonder if I can't make a game like fishing/hunting while surviving in a world full of [random nightmare item] (add fun shit like al bundy as you're partner in crime and you survive fat women, peggy the miniboss, the secret boss chicken-de-legs marcy, and their endgame boss, peggy's mom). Anyhow, I haven't made that so I don't see how Chat AIs good yet. So I decided to give chatGPT a try at making a persona with it THEN telling it afterwards to be that persona. It has problems remembering what it just said in the next reply so this got bad. I won't insert an offensive, i was gonna get violent, joke here but yes it was bad. Huge migraine. I decided to process that chatlog, 6mb singlefile html save, with a new chat AND use shared document as a way for us to keep that chat history in memory. Now, 4o can access and edit but lower models can not. If you are in the chat and don't leave, it retains the sync with it so you can edit it however. Leave chat and it can't see edits you make anymore. I'm not 100% sure if it retains the last known version until you are able to make it sync from 4o OR if that sync is a live link as long as you didn't leave chat while 4o had accessed it. I can test but headache here so just know leaving chat and returning without 4o is 100% not going to read any edits you make which was tested.
So here is the trick. Just use the option on the bottom right of the shared document to "suggest edits". It resyncs this way. You can keep it up to date and edit the damn thing yourself as a constant memory so it can't fuck up when processing information. Fuck openai. Enjoy the loophole. Just know, you MAY need to set a system memory so you can tell it a phrase so it knows or believes it is synced up and doesn't argue with you saying "I can't edit it, it's not up to date". It is, I tested that multiple times and that INCLUDES closing the browser and going back into the chat anew without any free model usage.
