Some scenes are good, but I wonder why not switch this whole thing for newer engine, better model and fresh story.

If I remember well CQ was already remastered some years ago, before the sprites were different but I cant tell much since I started playing post upgrade. The current engine is fine, it's a bit too late now to change due to the amount of content developed and I dont think it would be easy to convert everything without expecting to bugfix a lot of issues that would definitely appear which would delay even more the release of new stuff. My only gripe is with the really small 4:3 window size, I dont expect the proportion to be changed but the devs could at least make it a bit bigger since almost everyone nowadays use a 1080p screen.
The dev commented that they expected the game to end once Clairie ran away from the invasion but the players liked the game so much that it made the project to be expanded to more places, which bring us to the current state of the game, were we wait for a new release, play for 15 minutes then go do something else while the next release comes 4~6 months later every year. Part of the reason for that slog of development is that it works well for they, the devs just need to show some pics and keep in contact with the alienated community who are in deep coping mode and defend any critics while they swim in a continuous flow of money since most patrons forget to cancel their paid support.

For anyone playing via Joiplay and having issues with the quest log try using Maldives for this game instead it seems to load better and the quest log actually scrolls

You wanted to say 1440p or 2160p, 1080p screens is something of a decade long past, the majority are switching to higher resolution. The game is so tiny I can barely see it in the middle of my screen.

It does not seem like this game will be finished in this year or next one, or the year after the next one. Most of the quests I did, told me that content is missing and you need to come in future updates.

Might as well start decent project from scratch that would be adequate for the time to come. There are too many problems with existing game and too many dead ends. The developer simply wastes his time dragging ancient game and it will take another? 8 years to complete.

The map and locations feel empty with a ton of useless NPC's clogging paths, and tiny screen size where you can barely see 2 buildings on one screen.

Hi, new to the game. Do I have to worry about hidden objects/interactables? Or does everything sparkle and I won't have to worry about missing things?

Asking just because the style reminds of me of games that hide things haha.

There are some exceptions i believe, but generally speaking if it looks out of place, there's a chance you might pick it up. Most of the time it'll be sparkly though.

Yea it worked so well for other games. Like Summertime saga for instance. It will take at least 2 years to restore the game to its pre update version. So no thanks development is slow enough as it is. Quest in the games have "dead ends" because they are not finished its not the engine's fault.

Besides, some people like retro games. I like games like Eleanor 4, What a Legend!, Mystwood Manor or the Lust Epidemic saga, but I also like this game, Zombie Retreat or Caliross. I had to give up on another retro, Legend of Queen Opala, that one was too much.

This is tricky, saves are behind the F keys, but avoid the F4, i am pretty sure that is a "reload" You will loose everything
edit, or f5 was reload, be careful with those

Yep, copy the save folder of the old version, paste on the new version one, load the save, go to gallery, talk to the npc in the table and you're done.

If you're talking about the town being besieged by the pigment on the continent, you have to cross the bridge and raise it up, then you have to find the cleric Warhammer (I believe it's a Warhammer) then you have to go and rescue both your mother and (if you do this within three days) Marie. After you rescue your mother if you manage to do something for the rich noble you'll be able to take his ship to the isles and thus rescue everyone. It's a lot to do and very little time to do it. But the reward is very worth doing it.
