Yep just her. She feels like such a random choice for the wife as well, since the only real interaction you have with her besides being introduced to the larger company is driving her insane. Plus the MC doesn't even seem to find her that attractive physically.
Allison's content basically hits a brick wall at a certain point. I definitely get what you mean about it seeming like the game was going somewhere with her, especially with her gaining more options based on you advancing with Debbie, but it just kinda stops. Plus, there actually is a man you replace her with like the other departments (handing over Jamie to him because of course you do) but I never realized this my first time playing because it requires you to pick the "leave game" option for Allison and, just... why would I do that when I basically own her now?

I agree with basically everything you said, and I think the main problems with this game lie in the difference in what the average player would want out of this game and what the dev wants, which seems to be:

1. Making women miserable
2. Simulating being a cool rich businessman

With any pornographic content being a distant third. And since I don't really care about the first two at all, the game ends up feeling really empty despite how big it is.

Ok bear with me, because this will be somewhat lengthy.

I get that part, I really do. In fact I understand that this is part of the game mechanics in order to build your empire. I just can't accept some obvious lack of interaction between Hunter and some of the other females in Zenith.

We all know our MC is one hell of a horny guy, and he has no qualms in cucking people or he wouldn't sleep with the alpha trainer's wife otherwise. By plot design and characteristics of his personality, he would at least try to break secondary girls before sharing them with others, but the game dynamics says otherwise.

The very fact you can't even tame Jada or Carole when both are already eating out of your palm in HR way before you even call some other guy for it, don't even think in seducing Valerie Lyon prior to delivering her to Jackson, not messing with Cynthia further when she is pretty much throwing herself on you, by this point you could pretty much tell her to help you break Sydney and she would gladly do it, never touching Eryn when we see her as some easy target on same level as Amanda Ellsbach.

On both the Technology and Research Department, before you even hire the tech expert you pretty much have Jocelyn and Blair eating out of your hand too, besides Blair where you can obtain some sex and Bj's you never really touch Jocelyn same with Indira Patel, on first interaction in her introduction you pretty much describe her as "exotic and desirable" and don't make a single move.

Respecting Candance and not messing with her after she marries Donald, when we all know he would fool around with married women if given chance, all of this is pretty much uncharacteristic of the MC and that's what triggers me so much.

The game stops you from doing it because it already knows all those women belong to someone else. But by logic the MC doesn't know and he should attempt to get them and that's what pissed me off, if we at least got clear boundaries from the get go I would not be so affected by it, but the game makes you pursue those women in some level, flirt with them and even take some advantages but never allow you to go further then what it demands as necessary.

Gemma Hamilton and her daughter too, there's so much wasted potential on their arc, the fact that all it resumes is:
If you want is 20k of money (30k if you won't go horny for the daughter' virginity) or some Ego points if you let them go.
In all honesty I would love to marry her mother and adopt her as my step-daughter, just because I like how Holly interacted with the MC.

Another one I would love to make my step-daughter instead of Mackenzie would be Sydney, you hardly have any interactions with Mackenzie compared to Sydney. From game introduction you tried to insert yourself as a parental figure to her, which really made me wonder why did we even bother to have those interactions in the first place, if all we ever done in the end was deliver her as a prize for Mike.

Also I wonder why the heck they added Pomeroy's interactions with the female executives when in the end they are ultimately pointless, first time I played, I thought I found a nice way to grind Noriko's Ambition by meeting her here to lunch, but even if you completely deplete her ambition you still need to follow the game design and wait for the Golden Palace fortune cookie

I think because the game is an adaptation of the novels, there's a lot of knowledge that relies on that. Like Tracy is seen as a trophy because she comes from an upper-class family so you're "marrying up". The revenge against Jennifer in particular is personal, and there's a moment where you give her the choice to essentially AGATHA herself to erase her memories or to remember who she is but not be able to escape. Stuff that just doesn't necessarily make it over to the game, along with the game exclusive changes.

I don't disagree with you. I think Company Man is more of a 'pimp' game than a 'harem' game (or whatever you'd call turning girls into your slaves lol), unlike the previous Corporate Raider where most of the male NPCs are mostly an afterthought. It's funny, I think the Hamilton storyline could be fleshed out more too, but I like the Jennifer/MacKenzie pairing of the originals that is mostly lost here because the novel makes gives Jennifer the 'whore' ending. In the CR Dorm module, you make them be roommates and all that entails. I like the lesbian couple that you break up too, but after you dump one in the secretary pool that story basically ends.

But I think maybe it was a trend with the other games too, which shifted toward basically training property to be sold vs making your own harem. There's probably something to be said about actually having people who can run a company if you turn all the top employees into horny bimbos, so you would need to replace them with men who would be persuaded by their own prizes - this basically assumes all the men who work there are bastards just like the main character.

Despite the janky business presentation engine and the fact that you have to like use super old browsers to play the older games, I still revisit them from time to time because it's closer to what you describe as preferring because you are breaking the girls for your own use (for the most part). Singapore has some of that - at least you use the girls before you give them away, - but I'm not sure if Selectacorp will ever 'redo' the game to basically be more of a harem. That'd be something to ask them anyway.

Allison and Stephanie (or whoever the COO was named) are like the two female characters who get "good" endings and escape the fate of the others. It feels weird in the context of something like Dubai, where you basically are making breeding slaves, but probably within the original scope of the game it kind of made sense to have some women who could find ways out. Of course that makes me wish you could catch Stephanie and chip her with an AGATHA.

I think the Exec2Sec thing is so specific that for me it really is the situation that works for me and the guys who are really into this 'fetish'. I guess that falls under '1'? That is the 'porn' for me, rather than the actual sex if that makes sense. It's why I do like what they've done with Debbie and I assume it's why she has the most content of all the characters.

I do get the 'no porn' complaints though, but if you're into this oddly specific kink... well, it just works. But I do agree it'd work better if you could just keep all the prizes yourself.

At first I also thought the same, hence why yesterday I went to the Selecta Corp forum and poked around and made some inquiries, to my surprise the dev promptly gave a response today, that removed a burden stone that was hanging over my head:

Here are the 3 questions that I did:

1. Will we ever expand on the choices in marry someone else besides Tracy? Allison hits all my checkmarks and I was craving on turning her on a Trophy Wife. Specially her attraction to your cigar smell, I felt that there would be some branching on that eventually with her and the cigar club.
2. Can you only adopt Mackenzie? Also on early concepts I think you were planning on turning Sydney into Hunter's adopted daughter but had a change of heart somewhere after, that can be the only plausible explanation, because at game start we meet her everywhere and ingratiate ourselves as a parental figure. I really like that aspect of Selecta games where you make yourself the parental figure of grown women and reduce them to little girls, so I would love to have more options besides Mackenzie.
And lastly
3. Honestly with the fact we own living spaces on everywhere, I always felt that, we would eventually have some interactions occurring on those locations with your *ahem* surrogate family, I would love if we could expand on that idea and have a different trophy wife to each apartment or house. Gemma and Holly would make one fine addition to the London apartment this would at least stir away from the premise that all we ever do to them is either let them go or sell them for money.

And here was the Dev response to it:

1.) Sure- anything is possible. I could see a future release where this could become an option pretty easily. I had plans for Allison anyway so she will be reappearing in a future release!

2.) Again, I'm open to that possibility. My biggest constraint now is only imagination and time. I do need an interesting and somewhat plausible narrative to justify these kinds of additions lest they become a kind of rote check the boxes kind of outcome. But sure, why not add another dish to the adoption menu?

3.) I can see this happening. Hold this thought and see how well I execute on this idea in the next release...where (spoiler) you will have two characters from different locations meet up and the sparks fly!

New ideas, new narratives all give me material to work with-- especially if it 'fits' within the existing game universe!

Reading some of the other people comments and the Dev answers, I could roughly understand that it is loosely based on the novel, but besides the original path there are open branches to more content.

Yeah, I don't think he's married to the novels since I feel like these world locations definitely went beyond the scope, but it's one of those infinite time conundrums. It's effectively three people working on the game I think? Considering how many games kind of die or get updates so slowly, this one is not bad in terms of having big content updates regularly but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if they never get to some of the ideas people suggest.

I know he stopped working on that Katanga story since this game basically took over with the constant updates, so I assume he's pretty much maxed out on existing plans right now.

The CR world is probably the most they've spent dedicated to a single project though and I like it enough that I wouldn't mind if they just did this for years. But I get people may get bored eventually. Maybe there will be some opportunity for people to build their own interactions later on. lol

I tried looking up the problem for you on the Selecta Forum, someone there had a similar situation on the 1.5 version of the game, but there was no further update, at most Dev asked for their in game screen resolution, and prompted the person to change it and no further inquiries or updates about it appeared afterwards. I have not seen any further interaction between the Dev and that User suggesting otherwise, so if changing game screen resolution doesn't fix it, try deleting game and and downloading it again from a different source, sometimes albeit extremely rarely some files corrupt during download, and the game may still function normally even with said files corrupted.

There is yes, you have to complete the remote sites in sequence, you find the princess in Katanga if i remember when that place is almost complete. The Dubai content

This game could be really good. But it has four HUGE issues.

1) The repetitive grind is insane. Not the steps. But the cooldowns, the RNG chances, the high numbers for ambition and pride....

2) How the game offers zero reward for reducing pride/ambition by making your chances better. It makes it feel pointless.

3) There are way too many ways to lock yourself out of content without knowing you have.

4) The tangled mess of menu options for each character. Especially when you get to Debbie.

Suggestions to fix these issues in no particular order....

1) Eliminate cooldowns by making each event distinct.

2) The lower their motivation/pride, the higher your chance of convincing them. Or just not make the option available until certain requirements are met.

3) Give warnings when you might lock out ADDITIONAL content that could ADD to your experience. Make sure the main mission can still be accomplished.

4) Split the options up for each character. Like...MAIN STORY, OFFICE DUTIES, PERSONAL INTERACTIONS, or something just to break the long lists up.

MINOR GRIPES:

As in, not really game breaking, just my own preferences....

1) The writing sounds really....unnatural. Odd phrases. Repetitive phrasing. Just kinda...awkward.

2) The girls are....okay to look at. Not many are really attractive. That and their appearance never varies even when they've had surgery.

There is the bones of a promising game, but an editor sees to be desperately needed. Someone to ask why things are being done in the way they are. Just one example: the talk between the sort London guy and Debbie. If it's all immediately available one after the other.... WHY HAVE IT SPLIT UP? Just make it one session and edit it own to the highlights.

So I'm usually hanging with the people on Selecta Corp Forum a lot, so I often see mentions of the stuff you said here, and this is my uptake on some of it.

Funny you mention that, 1.6.2 they toned it down somewhat, was even more absurd prior to it.

Your complains are indeed very valid.

1. Cooldown is pretty much there so you don't abuse options, or key your choices properly. RNG chance is all about luck and scum saving. Ignore Ambition and pride, they are irrelevant without following the plot for that character.
2. Again ambition and pride are useless, it is more of limiter to available choices, which are still useless without following that character plot.
3. Game isn't finished, lots of the choices of some characters are still waiting to be written.
4. That I agree with you wholeheartedly. Will try suggesting.

You solutions...

1. Sure some options or events should really be distinct and unique, but there are other which I love repeating for the sheer satisfaction of the scene in itself, this would need a lot of reviewing in what make unique and what wouldn't be.

Besides the Devs are already used in making games in this very convoluted way, just check all their previous games and will easily recognize it is always this kind of mess. Good luck trying to convince them to change their ways.
2. This is more about balance, suggestion is nice, but game still has a lot of content missing, fixing or changing that now might not be a positive change.
3. Again, game isn't finished, lots of the branches of some of the characters are still in the drawing board.
4. This looks like a good idea, I will try to suggest it on their forum.

1. You get used to it, eventually...
2. Most content is re-used of former games and available porn of said actress. Their focus is more on the game aspects and story, the porn and erotica is a secondary if not tertiary concern for them.

I was under the impression that there was no way to view the video files in them because they were stored on a separate server or something that no longer exists, but have you found a way to make them work? Or did you just mean that you go back and play them and simply put up with not having the videos?

find one that works like rent control. Copy all files from the base directory like autorun to story_html, paste it on the game you want to play and run the exec.

P.s. Also yeah, old video files are pretty much lost, they don't even have those ones on their patreon directory so, yeah...

You need to look for a version of flash before they implemented the count down to retirement, with that installed you can just play the old versions like normal and get the videos to play.

The video files are actually in the downloaded files, but they are not named so if you want to find each video you have to manually search through every file for it.

I know of this program as the standalone flash player, but I can't get the video files to play when I use that, so I just use the actual old version of flash instead.

Without cheating. You can't, at least for now.
According to the Devs of Selecta Corp this is intended as it is, there's more content for Allison planned, but just not implemented of yet.
