Hello everyone, it’s me again. I’ve got something I want to discuss. What do you think about this idea?

First of all, like I said in my previous posts, the game I’m planning is mainly based on NTR Knight and Nebel Geisterjäger.
Originally, I wanted it to be a world map system where you have to search for the heroine’s location, and then just keep “cock-blocking” the NTR men. When you arrive at an event point, you would simply choose whether to say “yes” or “no” to intervene and stop that event from happening.

But yesterday, I tried playing 僕の幼なじみの最強剣士が不感の呪いを受けた話 and I realized that having events where the MC sees the heroine walking away with an NTR man feels much more thrilling. So now I’m wondering—maybe I should switch to this style instead.

That’s the concept for now. I don’t know if I can really pull it off, but I’ll do my best.

Stains of Blue's F95 page is now up! I've made a publicly downloadable demo for everyone to try out.
Would be happy if people from this thread all give it a spin :)

Also, just sharing my Patreon/Discord post here to keep everyone in the loop for what is to come:

Are there any more games like nyatorase and vulgar reverie? I really liked the balance of the wife being sweet outside of sex and humiliating in the sex scenes. I would like 2d games if you guys can recommend any

This sounds pretty appealing, but adding full on branching paths to individual scenes might inflate your workload quite a bit. Just dialogue changes shouldn't be too bad, but needing to change facial expressions to suit those dialogue changes can make a substantial difference.

That said, the concept doesn't sound like it'd be significantly more difficult to implement than just having scenes trigger based on values. Just heavier on the workload.

Regarding Stains of Blue, I really liked the beginning, but I feel like it's making the same mistakes as many low-budget AVNs: there's too much text to compensate for the lack of renders and scenes. I know it's necessary when you can't show everything visually, but it makes the game more difficult to follow. At times, it feels more like an illustrated book than an AVN.

Today, there are many AI tools that can help you reduce the size of your text without any loss; you should use them.

But the writing in stains of blue is actually great. Why in the hell would you actually want to reduce the amount of good text??? Might as well just fap to cgs at this point lol, vns might not be for you. And recommending to edit the text with fucking ai is even weirder :WaitWhat:

I think it's just a stylistic preference difference. Those who like the traditional japanese style vn experience will probably delight in SoB's flow, as it seems to capture this fairly well. Whereas I probably tend to be on the 'show dont tell' side as I imagine disgracedone is also.

It is very clear as you have mentioned that stains of blue is inspired by japanese vns (and the influence of one of them - Boku ni Dakare - is particularly noticeable). I don't think you are going to find a textless (soulless) western approach in this game. I and many others enjoy this part of the game. But it is fine, just a matter of different taste. I myself dislike most of the netorase games that use the western approach.

I have got riled up by thedisgracedone's post mostly because of the advice to use ai to reduce the text in the game - that is the definition of insanity in the current times where ai slop writing is so prevalent everywhere. Ai cgs might already be a step too far in some regards, letting ai touch writing is just wrong.
