I think its less the amount of courage and more the fear of getting a C&D letter from the IP holders.

Real life cosplayers can do it because they're not making money from the process, whereas if you're making a game and its on a platform like Patreon or Subscribestar, well companies aren't going to be too happy from you making a game with their material.

It's why you gotta do it through an anonymous developer name. They can't do shit if they don't know who's actually making the game, and they're not going to go after a whole website.

Nintendo has shut down a lot. Most people give up altogether or work on something else rather than reboot their game. They'll seem to come after content that's already been around, but not until there's significant traction/development and money to be made for extra asshole points. Like if you know Derpixon, there used to be a couple short Pokemon flashes but only those flashes have now been scrubbed.

The girls were cosplaying Pokemon. Pretty much the same as it is now but the costumes were Pokemon.

There were still echo enemies but the maps, encounter system (mousing over encounter spots isntead of clicking on a silouette) and a bunch of other stuff were totally different. You can still find and play old versions looking up poke-con quest.
