Can someone explain to me the control scheme? I can't find ANY key on my keyboard that attacks enemies, or any way to jump high enough to get out of the pit.

Meta: can someone also explain to me what's the deal with this kind of platformers having completely inane control schemes? Like, clearly the devs didn't try to play this with a keyboard even once. Why?
