Convert Gen8 outfit to Gen3?

Unfortunately converting Genesis 8 clothing packages to Genesis 3 isn't easily done. You have a few options in DAZ however.
Sometimes using Genesis 8 clothes on Genesis 3 just works, you just have to disable the contextual filter in the Smart Content pane.
Using an asset like
You could also change the compatibility base of a Genesis 3 figure to Genesis 8. Just select your Genesis 3 figure, and choose Edit > Scene Identification from the display options (play arrow overlaid on a hamburger menu icon) in the Screen pane, you can set the Compatibility Base of a figure to anything you want there. The could lead to some weirdness or it might just not work correctly, but it's worth a try.

As @Perverteer mentioned, changing the compatibility base works in the vast majority of the cases, but what I usually do is change the compatibility base of the garment, not the figure.
- Make sure nothing is selected in your Daz scene. If necessary, Ctrl+Click on the item that is selected to unselect it.
- Double click on the garment to insert it into the scene. Because nothing in your scene is selected, the garment comes in "standalone" (i.e. not fitted to any character)
- Select the garment in the scene menu.
- On the hamburger menu, select Edit > Scene Identification (first screen shot below) (You can also use the regular menus, in which case it's Edit > Object > Scene Identification)
- In the resulting dialog, at the bottom, you'll see "Preferred base". Click the little dots to the right of that. (second screen shot)
- Another dialog will come up, with Genesis 8 > Male or Genesis 8 > Female selected. (third screen shot)
- Change the selection to the corresponding Genesis 3 setting
- OK your way out
- Right-click on the garment, select "Fit (garment name) to..."
- Select your figure. Usually you also want "Parent to Target" checked.

I can find a Genesis 8 to Genesis 3 but not 2. Why the heck are you using a gen 2 male anyway?
