As someone that has been writing and publishing on the internet for hte last 15 years it's very much a FNG problem. You have to go over it and be able to discern the actual critics from the attack disguise as critics and not let it go up to your head.
Yes there are people that will give genuine negative feedback even if you don't like it, and also yes there are people that will just attack you over anything and nothing to get you to do exactly what boola did. Shut things down.
Now that said, the AI feature was a genuine mistake. How can you implement something that cost you, lone guy with just a lil big of patreon money, what little you can gain? I'm not even speaking about the bugs here, just as a PURE business decision that was bad. OR at that point he should have just bitten the bullet, made an actual chatbox and sold THAT on one of the dozen site where you can do so.
Now the only thing I can hope is that Boola get thicker skin and learn from this as callous as that sound it remain unfortunately true. If you expose yourself and your work you better get ready to get punched in the dick by people that would love NOTHING more than to see you crawl in misery at their feet.
