So I'm trying to play through the best of the best currently. I read a shit ton of people talk about how Once in a Lifetime is one of the best out there. How it's story is really good and the writing is fantastic. So I downloaded it and started playing and I just couldn't get into it.
I found the art very ugly and basic. Which I honestly don't blame the dev. I think this was his first game and a older one at that so a lot of the models are basic and the backgrounds flat. When it comes to the writing, I've just found it fine. Nothing crazy good or crazy bad.
Granted, I don't believe I'm very far in. I just saw someone in a alleyway that wasn't supposed to be there and then followed it up with a knife fight from a school bully. So I'm pretty sure very early on in the grand scheme. But between the writing so far and the art not being very good, I just don't really wanna complete it.
At the same time, I've been looking at Eternum and really like the art on their download page. Plus it's ranked the highest on the site so I gotta assume it's good. I hear that it's in the same world as Once in a Lifetime though and wondered if there are things about that story I should know.
Can anyone give me a OiaL Recap? Or just the bits I should know that are covered in Eternum? Or are the connections so minor that I don't even need to worry about it?
