Getting done by the professors... wholesome...?

I'd describe these rules as hypocritical and puritan
I think you're being a bit disingenuous here, because anyone can plainly see the difference in tone between this game and Degrees of Lewdity. DoL has plenty of content, but all of it is about rape and worse. By contrast, this game is quite tame and mild, so I don't think there's anything puritan or hypocritical about calling it wholesome - by porn game standards, obviously. To each their own of course, but I for one find DoL too disturbing for my taste, so I'm glad this game is going in a different direction.

I agree with Maxxie42. DoL is really dark, and the graphics with the little chibi anime character doesn't help. CoT is more like those old college movies like Revenge of the Nerds and Animal House, which yes, in the real world, are super rapey and wrong, but are comparably "wholesome" if you want to compare it to DoL or other similar simulation games. Also, you can turn all that off with some settings. You can even make this just a "going to college" sim.

On that note, I really like the balance of work/class/sports/social/budget in this game that many college kids have to go thru in real life. It's actually a good simulation of having to balance life and everything, that honestly would be useful for freshman to learn so they don't burn themselves out. I know my MC has left QuickieBurger with a sliver of Rest left, but needed the money, it's why streaming and the sex for money stuff is so tempting, it's a lot easier than working hours and hours at fast food.

For example, just for fun, I had one MC who I decided was a rich girl, so I gave her 20k right off the bat. She not only didn't need a job, but had the best laptop, best bed, dorm all decked out, all the nice clothes so she looked good. She was never tired from work, so could study easier and just did cheerleading for fun (My poor MC's do it for the free uniforms). She had outfits for every situation, and had tons of free time, and spent that free time just doing whatever, socializing, going on dates. It got boring after awhile, cause she didn't really have any challenges.

This is a life simulator, everything you do requires you to actually work for it.
Take your own advice.
I don't see how I'm arguing in bad faith. The other guy is pointing out those two things aren't wholesome as a counterexample to a guy saying "CoT is for more wholesome consent", emphasis mine. You're not the school bicycle nor the faculty cum dump unless you specifically want to be. But if you want to play college kid hanging out with friends, you absolutely can be, with little effort.
Ball's back in your court, mate.

By that standard, I can set the encounter rate in DoL to 0 and suddenly it's not "for dark noncon" anymore.
What did I say about arguing in bad faith?
Almost all of the content in DoL is noncon and ends up with your character crying, traumatized, and getting kidnapped if their stat falls too low. It's actually really hard to avoid getting raped in that game on its default settings.
You don't need to adjust anything in CoT to avoid getting raped. You can even proposition consensual sex and enjoy it. Oppositely, if you want to get noncon'd to high heavens, you have to go out of your way to either start with the appropriate stats or train it.
It's quite obvious which one is comparatively more wholesome.

If you're going to keep saying things without thinking it through, I'm not going to bother to reply to you.

Of course you don't, that feature was taken away.
If you mean recently, I don't recall seeing any since I started playing in v0.4.21. The most that happened was someone groped you on the bus ride or that the bully would slap you if you didn't go down on them. That said, it's still comparatively higher in consensual content than DoL and lower in how frequently noncon is thrown at you. Which you keep refusing to address for some reason.

Okay, now you are openly arguing in bad faith or have not been paying even the slightest bit of attention to what has been going on in this thread.

Says the guy who refuses to acknowledge the points I have been making. You're not engaging the question of whether CoT is more wholesome compared to DoL. You've made no attempts to compare the two.

Because there is no comparison. This is a bland, sterile, corporate knock off of Degrees of Lewdity and it always will be.
Corporate? You can download the game for free if you want. All they are asking for is donations. If the Devs were being "corporate" about their game, they would definitely be charging $$$ for it.
And how this is a knock off of DoL is beyond me. They have very little in common.

To each their own. Even if this were a "corporate knock off of Degrees of Lewdity", which I don't agree with at all, if the knock off is better than the original, what's the problem?

DoL is far too rapey to my tastes. In CoT, you can play a normal college girl/boy who happens to have a lot/some/a little/no sex, depending on your choices. You can play this game without engaging in sex at all if you want to, while you have to struggle a lot to get away with that in DoL. That alone is a huge plus for CoT in my opinion.

But if you enjoy the gameplay loop of DoL more, then of course that will be your preferred game. And that's fine, but it's no reason to come in here and denigrate CoT as a cheap knock off.

No - I'm not being disingenuous. Not in the least.
Yes, DoL has a completely different vibe.

But by implying that the ONLY step down from the extreme trauma and snuff of DoL...
...are soul-less copy-pasta NPCs that have zero individuality, needs or desires?
Then - you - are the one being disingenuous.
Because I wasn't arguing for DoL... I didn't even bring it up. You did!

Lets back up... Would it ruin YOUR experience if using the soft "no", sometimes gets overridden by a NPC teacher that is
flagged as a "douche-bag", that you have knowingly spent four weeks teasing until you see the teacher foaming at the mouth.
...and you lay your character down on said teacher's desk...
...and pull up the skirt of the character...
...revealing no panties...
You THEN expect a cutsie: "Oh, my... teacher you mustn't!" - to COMPLETELY end the sex scene?!
Because that is basically what currently happens.

I'm just annoyed because it has a good system... and I'd just like to see SOME sort of variation in the NPCs to allow for
some added layer beyond the current "bobble-head nodding figures". Heck - I've seen dildoes with more personality, tbh.
Your comment was a complete shot in the dark, at a made up target... a windmill, if you will.

(This is not in any way a dig at the dev - as I realize the game is far from finished...
Just idle argumentation between would be fans.)

Both of those things require you to actually work for those things. Just because it's a feature doesn't mean you can't have wholesome gameplay. If you're going to argue, don' argue in bad faith.

1: Please don't throw around terms that you don't understand the meaning of.
What is my breach of contract, that made my comment "bad faith"?

2: Lets say hypothetically say I had "worked for it"...
Let's say I had ended up having sex with ALL the professor's at this school.
Are you suggesting that it is "Wholesome" for a person with power to have sex with a person he/she has power over?
Because - the rest of the world kind of disagrees with this notion. #MeToo #HarveyWeinstein

I don't mean to sex/slut shame, you do you, but plowing through an entire school - even IF it requires some grind...
...can't in any reality - be seen as wholesome. Can it? Realistically?
Because if that's "wholesome" - what would you call someone who doesn't do this? ...a Prude? :ROFLMAO:
