Course of Temptation Dev Diary #83
Hello friends! It is dev diary time once again, here on Friday...
the twentieth.
This week is much like last week, in that I've been steadily working on Greek house party activities. This week's targets have been a racing party video game and pussy roulette. "What the hell is pussy roulette?" I hear everybody asking again. Well...
The downside is this is the least inclusive activity. It's open to as many different characters as it can be, but ultimately it is PiV sex, which leaves some people out. Partly this is because it leans on a breeding kink a bit, and also it's just a ridiculous idea that I wanted to include. Versions that accommodate other characters would really be entirely different activities — meaning that sooner or later, I'd like to write exactly that. In the meantime, this is the only activity like this — the others will accommodate any character and any set of preferences.
As for the racing game, I didn't have any specific notion of what I actually wanted it to be until I started actually writing it, and suddenly had an idea.
So, at least it's fun to write. Like the trivia game, this starts off as a PG activity, but once it's in a working state, I would like to add other events and alternate stakes that can lead it in a more X-rated direction.
In any case, I'll be able to get both of these activities working by the end of the week, which leaves only one left to do. This plus the other miscellaneous things that still need to be done with the 0.7 update would be too much for a push this month, so I'll be switching gears to a July monthly update. However, I'm fairly confident that the update for August (or the end of July for supporters like you) will be the Greek house update. No promises, things can always change, but I think it can be done.
But in the meantime, next week will be about the July update. There are several systems underway that need a lot of attention before they're anywhere near complete — notably the weather system. I'm continuing to tune the temperature system so that it's more of a gentle pressure to dress a certain way and not obnoxiously punishing. For example, in the next update, clothes marked as "cool" or "slightly warming" will still insulate you in colder weather, but will no longer punish you in warmer weather. And besides just the stick, I'd like to add in some carrot, and have some positive outcomes in this system. And overall, the addition of more weather effects will, I think, make the whole system more rewarding to engage with.
There are other things I'd like to make progress on as well. As I said a couple weeks ago, this update will be less about all new systems and more about extending what we have. Given enough development, there are a few roadmap items that can be checked off through iterations in monthly updates rather than one big major update push. And that only gets us closer to the complete experience that I eventually want from this game.
Anyway, that's all for now! As always, you'll hear more specifics about progress in next week's dev diary. I hope to see you then. Thank you as always for your generous support, and please have a good weekend!
