no you can't do anything without the original assets like tileset/parallaxes/characters and if they are using a layer plugin then you need the layer folder so everything that's inside the img folder and the data folder without the img folder when you save the show image will be blank

with the img folder
◆Show Picture:#1, outhouse_ryan_handjob_Cum01, Upper Left (0,0), (100%,100%), 255, Normal

without the img folder
◆Show Picture:#1, , Upper Left (0,0), (100%,100%), 255, Normal

but it can be done but you need to know how to edit the json files and know which image goes to the right character

It all depends on what you really want to do, and how many hours you are willing to spend to do it.

The easiest thing is to be able to decrypt the files.
Depending on the RPGmaker version, you will need a different software, but in principle, it is possible to do it for all RPGmakers
Then, you have to visit the folder where the images are located to get the ones you want.

If you can't decrypt, it will take longer...
You will have to capture images during the game.
By using the "print screen" key, it captures the image in the clipboard.
Then you just have to paste it in any image software to get it back.

Assuming you mean an in-game gallery/event viewer, then yes, it absolutely is. The relative difficulty depends on how those in game scenes were created.

I created an in-game gallery for an RPG maker game which had none. Was easy to do in that case because all of the h scenes were had been created as common events. Setting up a gallery was as simple as copying an existing map and then setting up some triggers to call those common events.

If the h scenes were set up as normal events on random maps then it could be more difficult.

You typically don't need to decrypt the files, though doing so is relatively easy and can make things easier to work with.

Seriously, you can edit RPG Maker maps in notepad. They are in plaintext. Don't have to decrypt shit unless you want to add new assets.
