Any updates on this one? Been a while and there seems to be a new patreon version. Just asking.
The "new" Patreon version is 3 months old, nothing else on Patreon after that. Before, the creator was relatively active. I think he might have cut and run.

The 1.1.2 demo adds a plant enemy and a titanoboa enemy...that's pretty much it. The creator claims they completely overhauled the movement system; if so, I can't tell. Just a bit more fluid, but still very bad. Some more extremely poor platforming and a barnacle enemy teaser (that has no animation yet).

Not worth spending money on rn. New animations are nice, but only 3-5 seconds each and unvoiced. File size is slightly better, but still too big (~2,7GB).

It's unfortunate this game's production is such a mess. Judging from the first demo that arrived the art style is truly unique and I'd love to see more like it. Are there any other games that come close to its look or is it really that original?

its still in development, just the creator uses comics to fund the game, and is using the comics as a storyboard so to say. it is also one person, and they do the comics as a side gig.

I hope this game sees some content. This is exactly the kind of things I'm looking forward to, but I think the animation must take a really long time to make.

This game dead?
Nope.
This is what the dev said on a public patreon post recently.

Production progress
I forgot to post these on here the other day, but they're the same as what went up on DeviantArt.

In moving forward with the visual novel direction for the game I've been drafting the scenes I'll need and locking in the color palette. More to come soon, with a new release dropping as soon as possible. It won't have much in it yet but it'll lay the groundwork for Cretaceous Seas to get back on track.

In other words it's dead. Visual novels aren't games, they're videos that make you click to watch them. It was supposed to be a platformer but the dev apparently can't handle the most basic and popular indie product. What they started wasn't bad but I guess they didn't want to do the hard work of making it tight.

I hate to be mean but couldn't they have read one of the billion free tutorials online on how to build a platformer?

It's a pity, because it would have been a really nice game had they stuck with it. That back ground was neat, the animations looked promising, and they bothered to get a voice actress so we don't have to suffer through the same anime girl sound effect 99.9% of these games have.

Dev announced yesterday that the game is now postponed indefinitely due to low interest.

The file that I downloaded has no extension. Which program do I need to open it with?

Cancelled due to zero interest? Has he done anything to drum up interest beyond what he posted to his patrons? I'd have been more interested if there was ever any information shared about it. I just remember to check this thread occasionally and by that I mean every 5 months or so.

Can someone link his new Subscribestar? He has had major issues with being able to post the content on other platforms. I'm not affiliated but have tried to follow up on it occasionally I'm not personally interested in vore I just like the art style. But vore seems to be what was getting him in trouble with Patreon.

Low interest? I remember this game even having a kickstarter page and then being in development for a few years. All the posts I could find about it were generally "overhauling movement" or "adding this system". Legit this game had 3 scenes ever since it was first announced. "Low interest" is a good term, but it wasn't from the community, it was low interest of the development team.

I have to agree. Granted lots of people start off good, the realize you have to put the work in to make a game, or they just get bored with it. After the first launch he had one animation, then a partially completed one, then a concept.
