Hey everyone! Before we get into the post proper, I'm afraid I have to apologize again for having a larger-than-intended gap between update posts. This time, I think I have a fairly understandable reason for it though, as I had a pretty major health scare. Those of you who have been around for a while may remember that my father passed away a number of years ago, from stage 4 colorectal cancer. I won't get into detail with my symptoms, but basically, I had some health issues crop up that could have been pointing towards colorectal cancer for myself. Since my father had it, and I've already had various gut issues over the years, there was serious potential for that to be the case. Needless to say I've been pretty fucking terrified, especially with my generally mediocre health and high aptitude for anxiety.
To make a long story short, though, I'm completely fine! It took a lot longer than I would've liked to get appointments and everything lined up, so the past 1-2 months have been nerve-wracking for me, and my work speed has unfortunately suffered (but not ceased for once!) - but I finally had a colonoscopy, and there was nothing serious at all. The symptoms I was experiencing are from mundane, far less terrifying things. The only abnormality they found was a 7mm polyp, which was removed and tested; we just got the results from that back a day or two ago, and it was completely benign, so until further notice, I have a clean bill of colon health! My doctor wants me to come back for another one in 5 years, which I fully intend on doing; even though I'm lucky enough to be fine now, I'm still at risk of developing it eventually, but at least now I know it hasn't been secretly ravaging my innards throughout the years leading up til now.
I'm still kind of reeling from the experience of a cancer scare, but I'm so damn glad I just got the testing over with as soon as it became a possibility. My father might still be around if he had done the same, but he ignored his symptoms until it was way too late, and I didn't want that to happen to me too. The experience of getting a colonoscopy is pretty miserable (specifically the prep - iykyk), but the peace of mind is beyond worth it.

With how many times he and developers like him have pulled that card before, having to go in detail means it's more likely to be legit.

Considering the fact there was like a how long period where he didn't work on the game because he was depressed. As evident in his discord, he has really really thin skin and can be affected by simply having people negatively talking about a game consistently in it's respective chat because the game is definitely in the shitter because the company behind is fucking stupid.
Yeah, he has to be a bit more detailed for people to believe him.

Yeah it's probably the fact that you get paid a lot and don't really need to work if you post "progress reports"
I'm not sure it's as much as people think. People think of a person getting a thousand dollars and think it's a lot, but almost nowhere is 1000/mo enough to live on unless you live out of your car. Even a payday of 10k means nothing yearly anymore... so if you're trying to run a software company making eroge you need to bank in excess of 10k per month, but that's just for one person. Multiply it for trying to hire anyone to work for you.
Otherwise you're "making a lot of money" but really still have to work another job. And the real law of work is if you have to work two jobs you aren't making a lot of money, no matter what things you buy with the money.
Anyway I just noticed that guys who develop H content tend to go crazy regardless of how successful they are. Them going crazy faster the more successful they are could be because uh, its making their life easy and that makes you crazy? Probably not. It's probably something else. But what could it be?

There's only two people working on this project, Anon and Orexius, they pull in about ~$5890 a month which puts them at pulling in ~$70k a year. If we consider their cut being 50/50. they're both making ~35k a year. What is Orexius' daily dev log update?

Which started in July, it's been nearly 5 months of working on what I can only assume is the same animation. I figure he works on it for probably like 2 hours a day, because that's the only way this little of progress would be getting done.

I'm aware, I've been following this project since 2017, the only actual things that are contracted work is the voice acting and that is kind of... Middling to be honest. Regardless, they legitimately get barely anything done in a year; it's wild. What is crazy to me, is the guy who did Night of Revenge, did EVERYTHING in that game by himself, coding, art, animating, design, just everything; and he started later. He had actual health problems that stopped him from working, and still managed to get out a full game before this one even has anything of substance.
I can't wait for this project to be milked for years to come.
More of the standard cynics peddling their arbitrary definition of proper development pace and how long is "too long". Nothing to see here folks, move along.

This game is being in devlopment for like 10 years. Animations have been removed, story reworked and so one. Fro years there have nothing of substance and they 2 devs are raking up 5k a month. It on pair with GTA6 and TES6 when it comes to the wait time.
And that changes...what, exactly? Arbitrary, like I said. I've been following this game since before either of our accounts were made my dude, you're not telling me or anyone capable of reading the date anything we don't already know and have accepted. I played the original version before noncon was removed when it was new. You either take the dev updates (which are consistent and detailed, and not just here but the ones on the k-site from Discord as well) at their word and are satisfied with the new content when it drops, or you don't. Math came in and it turns out, there's literally more internet out there than a human being could consume in a lifetime even if they never ate or slept. Go play.
You (plural) are enlightening no one and changing nothing by whining--the exact same whining that has been whined perennially for years, no less. The fuck does that achieve? Other than guessing the same thing 500 times and getting to say "i told you so!111!!!!!!111!1" when it happens by chance like it means anything. Pessimists do crave validation for their pessimism.
The people spending money on the support will read the updates and decide for themselves when to pull their chips out. Nothing you or anyone else can say will change that. You are in the most literal sense, wasting both yours and everyone else's time. Forget us, do yourself a favor and spend it on something that actually benefits you. 5 minutes watching funny videos, playing good vidya games or slamming the salmon to quality porn (that you don't see the need to bitch about) isn't much, but it's still a net positive to bitching at a brick wall and wondering why nothing changes. And if you (plural) can't do it for yourself, at least do the community a favor and stop wasting everybody's time repeating the exact same bitching over and over and over.

Could probably take your own advice and stop wasting time on typing up multiple paragraphs to say the same thing other defenders have been doing over and over and over. You could use your time better elsewhere just like the complainers do.

Seriously how can you defend this game at this point it's been in development for almost 10 years and updates have only gotten drier and slower as time went on,it's clear that all that's left of this is false promises and milking people like this guy who still innocently have some hope that this game will come out
Not gonna get dragged any further into back-and-forth on this, because no one wants to see that and momma ain't raise a hypocrite, but "how can I defend it" because Anon has bent over backwards to keep us updated and I see no reason not to believe anything he's said; so you'll not make false claims of "patreon scam" in my presence unopposed. 10 years isn't too long to me and presumably it's not for us other optimists (and the likes on my own posts here, appreciate y'all). Y'all wanna come in primed for negativity because of other projects, fine, a lot of them have earned it, but not this one, so I'll at least fly the flag for the positive so the pessimism isn't all there is.
"don't complain about compaining" has always been a fallacy and is extremely cringe besides. That's all the acknowledgement that nonsense deserves.
Y'know what, I'll grant that "It's taking a long time" could be a valid criticism to the team or warning to people just finding the game; who will then decide for themselves if that's enough to keep them from getting invested. But in the face of the releases and the team's forthrightness, it proves nothing by itself about 'patreon milking' or development hell or whatever.
Gonna say the same thing I said the last time, almost note-for-note, because they're the same complaints as last time, and still just not sound criticism to make: Unpleasable people, really. The latest version released a few months ago. People bitch because there's no updates, or shifty updates, or whatever. Anon updates in exhaustive detail on a consistent schedule, he's been very forward about what delays have happened and why instead of trying to play it off--which takes a lot of courage, let's be honest, and it's because of you people, specifically, and others with the same shitty attitude; the screenshots of the development Discord on the Patreon posts (on the k-site, if you can't see them) literally go note-by-note on what's been done since the last update. The hell else do you want? If that's not good enough for "tangible progress" you'll never be satisfied except for magically snapping your fingers and the whole game finishing. Keep dreaming, I say.
Same complaints that I'm sick of seeing because they're just as incorrect or hollow opinions with no substance as the last 3 years I've seen them from different names. Negativity circlejerks kill threads, and a lot of them deserve it, but nope, not here. I will champion this team as the exception until they no longer live up to it. If that ever changes, I will hold that L with dignity. If I got duped this badly I'll own it. Easy to say on the cynical internet, but like, eh. The last release with something tangible was... Let me check my notes... 5 months ago. It took a full year for .47 to even exist.
The "It's taking a really fucking long time" point is valid, because the game has been in development for over a decade now, like... Like to put it into perspective, if you were supporting with the $10 tier from 2015 onwards till now, you've spent $1430 overall or the $30 to spend $4320. Now, I'm not one to tell you what to do with your money, but if you're that level of getting scammed, maybe I think Star Citizen is up your alley; oh wait... I actually think some of the people who have unironically done that are actually into Star Citizen.
There's no pissing matches, people are venting about how fucking slow the development is, because it's counter productive to do it in the Discord because it's his Discord, like where are people going to go? Definitely the non-existent CPE Steam discussions right? Oh, they'll go to ULMF! Oh wait, the thread is dead there because it was the same fucking thing, people being tired of waiting for the game to be anywhere after 8 fucking years. Like... You have to understand, that people were comparing it to Wild Life and Summertime Saga in the ULMF thread 2 years ago.
