So I've been trying to put a finger on why exactly I find the story of the game kind of bad, and here's what I realised after playing the recent update. (I have only played Robin's Route)
It's missing one key aspect of bodyswap stories like these, namely subversion of expectations. What you would expect is characters having some sort of stereotypes about what the "other" is, and then after the swap some of those stereotypes are confirmed, some rejected, characters go through an arc, change and grow, and then maybe make decisions based on what they've learned.
The only hint that Robin had any kind of reevaluation of her views heavily depends on you reading into it and how heavily the game beats you over the head with her masculinity I lean towards it being more accidental than intentional, and the protagonist himself just flops around like a turd in the wind exerting literally fuck all influence over the plot being a complete doormat.
And I'm not even going to get into how the game stereotypically shits on men, women and masculine women all at once, that's a very deep rabbit hole to go on lol.
I'll keep an eye on it as it's really too early in the story to make a sweeping claim about it's quality, but I'm not having high hopes.
