Ren'Py - Completed - Cure My Addiction [Ch.5 Ep.1 C] [TheGary]

The game starts out good especially chapters 1 & 2. Unfortunately chapter 3 has the boring contracts part and chapter 4 finally ruins the game for good.
I really don't understand why after fooling around the whole game you suddenly have to choose only 1 girl, and you can't even choose Rachel.

TlDR: First two episodes are somewhat good.Last three - dont waste your time.

No sound.Like - at all.There are maybe 4-5 scenes with sound(and they are all slapping sounds).Just a simple ambient will do this game good.
Grind - Grind scenes for another scenes to grind.You just too focused on grinding, that you stop paying attention to the story and the game itself.Very repetitive.
No animations - 4-5 for whole 5 episodes...bruh.
Re-using - Nearly whole first half of the 3 episode is a complete re-use of scenes from episode 2.Less for episode 4, but nevertheless.

Conclusion - Good start, but seems like the author burned out and tried just to finish the game for it to be finished.

it's cool for me.
Interestingly, each episode is made differently, using different mechanics.
But did not like that in the third episode I had to go through repeated tasks.
I'm currently on the fourth episode. I wonder what lies ahead for me.

Having finished all 5 games, i must say that there were quite a number of memorable scenes and the overall story is fairly enjoyable, That being said however the many hours required to enjoy it to its full extent are not worth it in the end.

Chapter 3 re-uses scenes and story advancement requirements from Chapter 2, and then again Chapter 4 re-uses scenes from Chapter 3, ignoring the RNG mechanics of having to do obnoxious amounts of 'work' to fulfill certain objectives. The game could do with an overhaul to cut down on the amount of time required to spend doing monotonous and tedious tasks so that you can enjoy more of the story that is presented already.

The girls are cute and the fetishes presented are varied enough, but the lack of any real animations or voice lines makes the fappability to any of the pornographic content sub par to other VNs that i have played.

IF you have EXTREME patience to deal with the length of this series, it may be worth your time to check out.

This game has really too much grinding for scenes to trigger. Sometimes you will skip almost a full day waiting to trigger something;

there is also few girls and they are not very beautiful.

Also there are no musics in this game and it should have one to help with the ambiance.

a great game indeed，a little bit grind is tolerated，as a game so long，it have so many contents，eventually you really fall for those girls，that is a rare experience for me.

my biggest complaint is I like Rachel a lot，and we cant have a solo ending with her，everything we do with Rachel envolved with Susan who let us just say I am not a big fan，it gives me that feeling we lose Rachel to that old woman，which sucks，almost like a NTR to me.

This game could REALLY use an overhaul, especially the earlier parts, since it seems that the designer did learn from previous missteps, and there needs to be a coordinated restructuring of this game with clearer instructions, eliminate the randomness, and just make everything more coherent and straightforward.

This is one of those games with beautiful models and animations, and a potentially interesting story, but the gameplay got in its own way so much that even with a walkthrough, it was so much work trying to figure out what to do next and hoping random events would trigger, that this game ended up just not being fun. If this game received the overhaul I mentioned above, I would absolutely recommend this game, but as it is, it's just not worth the hassle.

Honestly most of the time i dont get why people are complaining about sandbox games being grindy. For me it's like complaining about racing games forcing you to drive a car. It's not grind, its gameplay. But probably i just was lucky and thanks to that i've only played "good" sandbox games. After spending (or wasting) 10 hours in Cure My Addiction i now understand why people are complaining about grind.

This is the worst porn game i have ever played. Period. And the worst porn sandbox game obviously. You have to grind the same events over and over again to gain absolutely nothing. After 10 hours of this chore i didn't feel any progress in the game. There is no progression in the game, all your "relationships" with girls feel very forced and not natural. The overall plot and setting is not that bad, it should work in a porn game. You're alone on a boat with a few girls. But the execution is just painly bad. Rewards you are getting for all this grind are not rewarding at all. In fact, for all this grind you already done game is giving you... another events to grind. This is a sandbox game, supposedly. There is pretty much no freedom in this game, game is way too linear for a sandbox game. You cannot play this game without constantly looking on event screen. And even then sometimes it's not clear enough what you have to do in order to unlock something new. I vaguely remember at least two times where event descriptions in the game were wrong which forced me to look up a walkthrough. That's bad game design and, i don't know lack of testing? Render quality is fine i guess, models are average at best. Sex scenes are kinda meh. No music which is painful.

I have only played chapter 1, there is a chance it gets better later on but honestly i doubt that. If you're first 10 hours with the game is this bad, then you just have no reason to play more. This is the first porn game i ever played where i was angry at myself for wasting time for this "experience". Begone.

so, without knowing anything I need to pick 1 out of 3 girls just by her name and thats who Im gonna marry. he gives a short summary of who she is and now we start the game. I don't feel close to the girl but we are already playing fetishes. spanking seems used a lot. the mc is not likable. after some playing I get bored. sandbox is not helping either. I extract the images. the 3 main girls are not hot enough. quite boring models. even the side-girls are not that special. nothing I like.

This one game is quite old (compared to right now) and it kinda feels when it goes around how the story progresses; however it has a certain nice realism- touch and non-nonsensical decisions throught the story. I mean yes, it got a lot of fantasy and 'everything's to be alright' but that's one would expect in an adult game, and is fine.

Is not just naked bodies, you get to deal with anyones point of view and there's practically no sex with main characters until the second chapter, in short- it has great build-up, and so much so, it can get you to feel emotions in certain moments...

Definitely recommendable, gotta respect such devoted works.

Very progressive, with multiple chapters, lot D/s and kinks, not simple, wide choice of interlaced quests, beautiful graphism, a lot of characters very different. Many hours of pleasure.

One of the best adult games ever made. Great character designs and fetishes. I think the first few chapters on the boat are better than the following chapters but the developer has put a lot off effort into making all of the content in this game.

This game probably has one of the best easy-going systems I have ever played through. No need for a walk through and everything is extremely clear. Its honestly a well made game...

But I will say that despite how well the game was put together mechanically. This game had one big issue for me. It was really long with very little to give. I am not saying there is a lack of content because there is a ton of it. But there is a really low amount of variety and you often feel like you are just repeating things. You aren't ACTUALLY repeating things its just the same kind of content over and over and eventually you realize you don't have anything to look forward to.

For example in chapter 1 of the game you achieve almost everything you want with the girls except for one of them. Then you hit second chapter and even though your getting new scenes they are still the same fetish or kinks. So the game is very long and can take a lot of hours eventually making you bored of seeing the same kind of scenes over and over with nothing new being introduced other then story and different set up.

Other then that I think everything else was great but I definitely got bored around chapter 2 and felt like I was just playing a game I "had to finish since I started it" after that.

Just finished the game, and I have to say: this is some top quality stuff.

Attractive models, hot sex scenes, characters with individual personalities, it's all there.

If I wanted to criticize something, I would have to say that the corruption aspect is staying somewhat behind it's full potential in the late game.
I'm a corruption fan, the corruption and incest tag is what made me download the game in the first place. I was looking forward to making all female characters completely submit to the MCs dominance, with all characters being slutty enough to have sex with everybody else, including the mother and the two daughters. This is unfortunately not possible, you can't have a complete harem, not all females will submit to you (actually only one completely submits) and you also can't make the make the mother have sexual encounters with her daughters. Maybe change this a little bit in your future endeavours, at least if you are aiming your game at corruption and incest fans. That's why I'm deducting one star.

Now to the Positives.
Speaking about "the one that submits": this game has managed to do something that no porn game has achieved for me so far - in made me feel actually emotionally attached to one of it's characters.
I'm talking about Amy, the bitch turned servant turned loving wife (in my playthrough).
The journey this character takes was brilliant, very well thought out, well paced and with good dialogue and scenes throughout all 5 chapters of the game. When we first meet her, she was easily hateable, a scheming, lying golddigger who tries to manipulate everybody into giving her what she wants: money and power. I loathed her with a passion and wanted to have her off the yacht as soon as possible.
Then came her downfall, very satisfying to watch, finally the bitch received her just desserts. At that point, I still would have preferred to kick her off the yacht, but training her proved to be much more enjoyable, so I didn't mind her staying.
In the follwing chapters, we see her attitude change, she not only submits to us, but has an actual change of character. She becomes a better person, and at the end, I felt genuine affection towards her, because the had to go down a very tough road to arrive where she was now, and she did so without complaining, always giving her best, completely dedicated, loyal to a fault.
I was therefore very pleased when the game gave me the opportunity to marry her to my MC - I did so in a heartbeat, for me there was no competition at all. When I saw her in her final scenes, together with the MC and happily married, I as a player was happy as well.

So to make a long story short: I came for the corruption, but found a love story instead - one of the best love stories I have ever witnessed in any game, and definititely THE best love story in a porn game (for me).

Kudos to TheGary for taking me on this journey, it was a real pleasure, keep it up!

This review is for Chapter 1 only. Will update review for other chapters as I play them.
Gameplay wise, this is the only sandbox game that I've ever enjoyed. This is for 3 reasons: there is little grind, there are a bunch of scenes, and there is a helpful in-game hint system and even a walkthrough. The UI is clean and intuitive.
The story and writing are great light-hearted fun. There are only 7 locations to visit and 6 girls to pursue. Unlike other sandbox games that spam you with a bunch of characters, here you only have a few, so you get intimate with them in depth. Corruption is gradual and feels well earned. No choices to make, but this isn't the type of story heavy game where you want them.
Porn scenes consist of descriptions, renders, animations. Although the animations are bad (2 renders back and forth), the renders and descriptions are great. Most scenes don't have animations. There is a huge variety of scenes and there is also a huge amount of scenes. If you're not getting a scene every 5 minutes then you're doing something wrong. Other reviews complain about the spanking, but it's not that bad. I'd estimate ~20% of the scenes are spanking, and they're pretty vanilla and erotic so that I, as someone who does not have a spanking fetish, was able to enjoy them.

It's amazing how much shit there is on this site with 4.5 stars, and then there are genuinely great games like this sitting at 3.5. The other reviews say that the later chapters aren't interesting, but even if that is true, chapter 1 is still a great 5 star game. One of the few games here that I can confidently recommend.


+ MC isn't the same passive idiot you play as in 90% of VNs.
+ What little grind there is is made much more fun by variations in the scenes. For example, you need to give a girl 3 massages to progress her plot, but every massage is a little different, so it's not like you're just skipping through the same scenes over and over.

- No "Back" (or "Page Up") button to reread text you might have skipped over.
- The ??? character is underdeveloped. Looks like the devs wanted to make her mysterious, but she just comes off as rushed.

Good story. Render are great. Hot characters, each with different personalities and likes. Many scenes.

BUT

While chapter 1 and 2 are perfect, the story quality drops a little in chapter 3, raise again in 4, and big drop in 5.

Chapter 3 i think is the longest one, only because most of the scenes are repeatable from chapter 2. It introduced new mechanics, but unfortunately they weren't to my taste, and i dropped the chapter, didn't played until end. This happened specially because the "how to trigger the scene". The feedback from interface sucks, which was fixed in next chapter

Chapter 4 rise the quality again, but the contract mechanics was a pain in ass. Also the rush in the end about deciding which girl to marry was sad.

Chapter 5 shows the ending of the game. I won't lie, i would like a harem ending, which kind of happens in every ending. The big issue for me here was that chapter 5 isn't really a game. Only a scene-click type of game. I didn't feel either changes in characters behaviour while playing ends. For example, i married Emily but Rachel act the same way as if this didn't happen.

Anyway is a high-quality game that for sure deserves to be played

Interesting story. Render are great, much better than other Ren'Py games. Unique control which is good. Hot and cute models, every character has different face and proportional body. Many variation scenes.

The downside is grinding and you can't go back to previous conversation (you need to load from Autosave if you want to check another option).

Thanks to that created this superb game, i really enjoyed this game and thank you ThL for made the unofficial walkthrough that really handy.

[After playing Ch.5 Ep. 1 C]

First 2 and most part of the 3rd chapter are very good, I liked the story, characters, the way everything evolves, the comedy, the girls and their sex scenes, the punishing element... It was certainly very nice on that part. Sadly, from the rest of 3 and until the end at 5 the story doesn't seem so interesting, the gameplay gets a bit annoying at some aspects (working the contracts is a boring pain in the ass, some mod to cheat there would be great), though the sex and the graphics continue to be top. I guess it was an idea that was extended more than needed and sadly is not finished too satisfactorily, but certainly deserves to try.

A nice mix between sandbox, grinding and story.

Girls
I am not a big fan of asiatic or old woman but I have to admit that the game offer few tipes for a lot of people. The bodies are well rendered and each girl come with a personality and a bit of story.

Story
I found the story interesting enough to do all the grinding and eager to see what is the next stage in the development of the relation between MC and each girl. The father figure was not killed just to make space to MC to fuck the mother and anyone else without any moral issue which is also a thing I apreciate.
MC is also a likeble person, not a complete jerk that I wish to punch in the face.


Interface
The interface is pleasant and quite intuitive. I liked the tasks interface more in the first chapter then in the second. I had hopes for the third chapter, but it made it even worse.
The loading screen in chapter three looks too rigid and ugly compared with the previous ones.
There are some events that are not so easy to trigger and had to read the forum or the guide to figure out what should I do

Although some of the scenes are repeated over and over, the amount of gameplay is very good, a bit of everything in it. i really enjoyed playing it through. There is some animated sequences but not a lot, if you like to play with some kinks then i am sure you will find some fun here, you can turn off femdom gameplay if you dont like that stuff.
