Curious how everyone names themselves in the games they play

Most recently I have taken to naming the MC: Hobo Fucker.
Dude or chick, doesn't matter. Why? It's just funny as fuck to see NPCs saying shit like 'Hey, its Hobo Fucker. How ya doing?'.

No matter how one feels about Fallout 4 as a game, I think everyone can appreciate the greatness of them recording so many voicelines for Codsworth. Nothing quite like having your British robot butler referring to you as "Mister Fuckface."

Funny thing is, I actually do spend a lot of time on Reddit. My name on here is listed on my profile there as one of my alternate handles, so maybe they just recognized me from there? Or my writing style, I guess. Or maybe I'm giving too much benefit of the doubt, and they're just being a douche. No skin off my nose either way.

I always use the default name because I believe it's how the developer intended the game to be played. If no default name is provided, I simply leave it blank.

I make up some stupid name on the spot, something like 'Shoebag McDongadong' for example. I like how characters then have to refer to me as that the whole time. I rarely can take any of these games seriously enough to use a normal name.

If there is a default name that isn't retarded, use that.

If no default name,
Is it contemporary setting?
If the Mc is a loser, John.
If the Mc is "cool," Jake.

Is it scifi/fantasy?
Go to name generator.

Honestly, worst part of every game is naming my character.

1 - default name
2 - 'MC' - if name was requested right at the start of the game, this tag is the only thing I know about main character.
3 - Alex, Jake, Billy - or something like that for a decent human being, when I'm in the mood of guessing names.

If there are no clues about MC's looks or character I hope there is an option to change name later in game.
