Nothankinator other than the gore upon death by enemies or traps, there's one torture device that I found later in a save room. I didn't get far, but I'd guess that's the essential point of the game.

I load my save and there... I see my character, but I'm in complete darkness. The flashlight doesn't light anything. I'm moving forward/backward blindly and I fall to my death...
